Good morning, sweet friend! You know what I realized yesterday? It’s kind of wild that during this time of year when you go into someone’s house, there’s a big ol’ tree in their living room. Any other time of year it would just be viewed as a little quirky, LOL! Anywho, the fam and I off to have lunch in the beautiful town of Sonoma with a dear friend (hi, Marisol) and then we might go ice skating. I think it’ll depend on how caffeinated I get beforehand. 😬
On that note, tis a short and sweet Saturday Surfing today.
- Is anybody else already so, so tired of being cold all the time? I know the California version of “cold” (air quotes) isn’t the real deal when it comes to chilly weather, but still. I’d rather be in shorts and a t-shirt. Anywho, this story about what scents to wear if you want to smell like summer by the sea has me already thinking of hot weather and long, leisurely days at the beach.
- Speaking of perfume, here are the best books on perfume according to author Denise Hamilton. She’s a novelist who used to write a perfume column for “The Los Angeles Times” called Uncommon Scents.

Not tired of being cold yet. In my area, we generally don’t have high temps lower than 80 until you get to November. Today it’s 63 degrees and rainy. Haven’t needed the furnace (gas heat) on much at all yet. Real cold (high temps in the 30s to 40s) won’t be here for another couple of weeks, I think. January and February are the dangerous months for Texas winter weather, as the great blackout of a couple of years ago shows. 🥶 Anyone who has lived in Texas more than a few years appreciates cool weather, because 5 to 6 months of summer weather is hard to take, for most people.
I got my Charlie Brown Christmas CD out, as well as a James Taylor Christmas CD I got as a gift some years ago, to play on my boombox.

My friend and I said we would not complain about the cold after that intense summer we just had. The extreme heat plus the wildfire smoke coming from Canada was not easy to take. There have only had few really cold days so far. I love all the seasons when things go well. I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve. The time goes by too fast.
Thanks for the collagen video and the Charlie Brown one. Have gotten a chance to try crocheting yet?

I’m the opposite. I’m so tired of being hot. In Tokyo and the lows have been around 34 and the highs between 48-54F. Been walking around with my coat open enjoying the refreshing air.
Love the Vince Guadalupe Charlie Brown Christmas album.
