Is it just me, or did July sneak up on us? How did this happen?
It’s going to be a hot one here in Northern California today — 97 degrees — and I’m SO not ready for any of it. If you’re one of those people who thrives in hot weather, 1) more power to ya, and 2) could you please send good hot weather vibes my way? Also, if you have any tips on how to be cute in the heat, drop that knowledge on me too, please. I could use it! Ha ha ha!
I’m going to try to make the most of it and take advantage of this perfect pool day, but dang, I wouldn’t be mad if it was mid-70s and partly cloudy all day, every day.
How’s it going out your way? Are you in full summer weather mode yet?
I hope you’ve had a good week. Mine was really busy and I’m physically and mentally tired, so today I’m going to take it easy, lemon squeezy.
Have a wonderful rest of your Saturday and don’t forget to reapply that sunscreen. 🙂

I don’t really care about reversing my gray. I wish they’d find a reliable, effective way to restore hair loss and maintain thicker, denser hair growth.
Now I want to make potato gratins and apple pancakes. And watermelon chaat, too.
Have a great weekend.

Most Texas residents have just come through a week or two of super-hot and humid weather. Oddly, it turned cooler today when NOBODY predicted it – it stayed cloudy all day and the temperature stayed in the mid-80s without rain. This never happens on July 1st! It might rain late tonight or tomorrow morning. Usually the only way it stays below 97 degrees here in the summer is when it rains. I don’t have any hints about looking good in hot weather – I keep to minimal or no makeup because it will melt off my face if I’m out there more than 15 minutes. The big problem is humidity – sweat is visible on face and clothing if you’re out there for very long, and you can get terribly dehydrated because your body keeps pumping out the sweat, but the sweat won’t cool you off because of the humidity. Then you get heat stroke. Summer is hated by most Texans who aren’t children. The cost of electricity is enormous, and any house built before 1975 is probably leaking air conditioning like nobody’s business.
