Good morning and happy Caturday! We made it. 😀
Right meow, I’m way too excited to put my hair up in one of these scrunchies. LOL! I went on a hair accessory hunt yesterday and grabbed a few things from Target: Scrunchies in neutral tones, a pink oversized jaw clip, black hair ties that allegedly don’t damage your hair, and a shampoo and conditioner set by a brand new to me called Rhyme & Reason.
Have you tried anything from this line? They do shampoos, conditioners and treatments. While it’s on the pricier side for drugstore (it was $20 total for the shampoo and conditioner), it’s supposed to be good! Side note: I got the recommendation from Abby Yung, a YouTuber who’s videos I’ve been enjoying a lot! She has a lot of videos on healing damaged hair.
This week’s reading
- Ozzy Osbourne just launched a makeup line. Thoughts?
- The first fragrance recipe comes from modern day Iraq.
- What it’s like to visit a cat convention. Side note: Sign me up!
- Why you should train your cat, and how to do it.
- Affordable drugstore skin care!
- FYI, skin cycling does not involve a bike.
- Why are celebrity men’s skin care lines booming?
- OK, why isn’t Essie Angora Cardi on this list of best fall nail polish shades?
Well, I’ve believe I have arrived.
I’m low key obsessed!
Speaking of Lizzo…
Talk to me Abby.
Pretty!
I love smokey eyes.
What are you up to today? I hope that things on your end of the keyboard are relaxed and peaceful.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Such a great video about perimenopause symptoms- thank you for sharing that. (Yes, that train left the station some time ago!)
The fall nail polishes are gorgeous, but Olive & June is putting out a brand new quick-dry line next week, so I’m saving all my polish pennies for that. Five minute mani? 19 new shades? Yes, please! 💅

I’m down for a five minute mani, Suzanne! How’s your weekend going so far?

My weekend is quiet- thank goodness! Hope you guys are having a fun one. And I hear you about the choosing blinds/curtains saga. We’ve been here for almost 7 years and I still don’t have anything permanent in the bathroom, lol.

Thanks for the perimenopause video. I am 48 and it’s been on my mind because I am finding it so difficult to lose weight. I eat healthier and exercise more than I did 15 years ago, but I am at my heaviest and it really really bothers me. Big Data really knows me, because my Instagram ads are all “lose weight in your 40s!” and “balance your hormones!” and I’m wondering if I should invest in HRT or if it’s too early?
Anyway, have a good weekend. 🙂

Appreciated the video on perimenopause to share with younger friends. I started having hot flashes when I was 42, what was up with THAT? I hit full-blown menopause a couple of years later. On the plus side, after dealing with endometriosis for years that left me in horrific pain every month I felt SO much better. Some dietary changes and honestly I feel better now than I did before.

Happy Caturday Karen and company!
I went to a book signing today from Molly Yeh. She is a local cookbook author and she’s gotten pretty famous and has a show on food network. Anyways I got one of her new cookbooks for myself and one for my friend for her birthday.
Have a great rest of the weekend! We are doing family pictures tomorrow so I hope the weather is nice!

My thoughts when I heard about Ozzys makeup line: “At least not skincare!”
