It’s full-on fall, y’all. On windy days when I see the fallen oak leaves pick up and swirl around, I think of how Tabs loved to chase them. He’d sit there and wait for a bunch of leaves to swirl around, and the he’d just bound on over and get up in the mix.
Did he ever actually catch any leaves? I don’t know. But it was the cutest thing to watch. Another thing he loved, absolutely loved, was chasing squirrels. Again, did he ever actually catch any squirrels? No, but he sure had fun going after them. He’d do this funny thing where he’d run up a tree, and he’d only get like 5 feet up at the most, and then he’d just pause with his claws on the trunk and be like, “Oh, now what?”
I wish I could have brought tabby with me to Starbucks so that I could have a pumpkin spice latte with him on my lap. Maybe if we’re ever reunited again in the universe we’ll do that on a chilly fall day. Of course, he’d do his tabby a-hole move and spring off my stomach when I least expect it and I’d end up with pumpkin spice spilled all over me, but if I could spend a little time with my boy, it would be worth it.
As you can tell, I miss him a little extra today.
Rosie
Oh, Rosie-pose! We found out this weekend that she absolutely loves egg yolk. I gave her a little bit yesterday after eating my breakfast. I just set the plate down with the leftover yolk on it, and she went to town on it.
Ever since that little extra treat she’s been my little shadow, following me around, snuggling on my lap. I don’t know if it’s appreciative, or if she’s just trying to bank some extra points so I’ll give her more yolk in the future.
Cats are funny. She has such a different personality than Tabs did, but she’s also very loving and sweet like he was.

Of course you miss Tabs – he was such a lovely boy in every single respect.
Great pictures of Rosie today – particularly that sequence of moving ones and I love the last photo – she has such a feminine face!
