Sundays With(out) Tabs the Cat, Makeup and Beauty Blog Mascot, Vol. 115

November 28th, 2010 by Karen 27 Comments

Sand cat says, “These are my slippers. so you’ll have to get your own.”

Even though I’m sure Tabs has been living la vida loca without me (I heard he threw a rager last night), I sure do miss his fussy face.

Tabs and his Chanel Khaki nail polishes

The gang of tail-less tabbies that runs around my in-law’s neighborhood has been MIA, so I’ve been getting my CCL on via beach cats and the feline sand sculptures (like the one up top).

I asked friends on Twitter the other day how they cope when they go on vacation without their pets… @norulesjstbeaut starts to meow to pictures of her cats. Now THERE’s a woman after my own heart, ha!

Thanks to the Skype Tabby Cam 2000, Tabs and I have kept in contact every day. He’s been calling to complain about the pet sitter, who he says “wouldn’t know good gravy from a hole in the ground.”

Today I went through some of Tabs’ old makeup modeling pics, and now I miss him even more…

How much do you miss your pet(s) when you go away on trips? Are you glad for the time away from them, or do you wish they could tag along?

Your friendly neighborhood tabby addict,

Karen

Pretty much everywhere I go in public, I wish my dog was with me. It’s a real problem, LOL.

I miss my kitten when I’ve been at work for 8 hours.
It just makes my day so much better to come home and see her running toward me. 🙂

I am lucky enough to have an animal assistance tag for Roscoe. I can take him ANYWHERE; and I almost always do. An overnight away… NEVER!!!

My husband and I have had our dogs for three years and this past September is the first time we left them overnight without one of us around for vacation. I required twice daily proof of life photos the entire time I was gone.

I liked not having some of the more tedious aspects of the dog companionship but I’d clean up poop 100 times a day for those rat bags!

This post came at the appropriate time for me! I have been away from my kittens for two days now. It’s hard for me to sleep without one of them curled around my neck and the other snoozing on my feet.

I’m working in another city from my mother’s place and I miss my babies! We have a portly old man who has no interest in humans (they exist to open cans of tuna and carry bags of kitty litter), and naughty two-year-old boy who sees dead people and our dog: a lean mean killing machine guard dog – unless you give him a treat and stroke his head in which case he’s as mean as a baby bunny.

    Miss ’em!

    I awwwwed out loud.

I always miss my cats like crazy! (and I like to think they do too, yet always act terribly unimpressed when I come back and try to get a snuggle out of them)

I miss my cat whenever I am away from her! My boyfriend is taking care of her right now, and I interrogate him every day: “What was she doing when you opened the door?” “What did she say when you opened the fridge?” I miss my baaaaaaby!!!

I don’t have a pet ( 🙁 ) so I can’t really comment, but I had to stop by and send you a big {{virtual hug}} all the same. You’ll be with Tabs soon; it’s okay!

(Um also, he’s the CUTEST CAT EVER. Just in case there was any uncertainty. The first photo totally makes my day!)

Aww Tabs is soooo cute! My parents have four cats, but I live in NYC now so I have none :(. I’m too afraid that a kitten will run out my apartment door and be lost in the big city forever. I miss my four cats at my parent’s house like crazy, luckily I got some quality time with them over Thanksgiving weekend.

It never ceases to amaze me how you can just lay makeup on Tabs without him running away. Then again, my cat is a little psycho and she freaks out at everything. Just got her a scratching post this weekend and she won’t even go near it – figures. Regardless, I don’t miss her as much as I worry about her missing me. Apparently when I’m gone overnight, she’ll sit by the door meowing at it. Poor Moose 🙁

I miss my two cats so much when I’m on vacation! Even when I’m in a hotel room, I still shut the door right away “so the cats won’t get out.” Visiting friends with pets helps, but sometimes that just makes me miss my cats more.

I can get through the first couple days of a vacation without missing them, but anything longer than a week and I do get a little sad. If I’m alone on business, then I miss my husband AND my cats….

Our 2 kittehs missed us sumpin’ terrible over the Thanksgiving holiday, but I always make the cat sitter text me a message that they’re fat, happy and doing ok without their family around. The upside of leaving them is that I get the most extravagant head butts, nose-in-my-toes rubs and belly flips upon my return. I swear that when I got up at 4 AM this morning to use the bathroom, I got followed in there by one of ’em who proceeded to rub his fuzzy little head all over my feet with boundless enthusiasm. Gawd, they’re cute!

My dog lives at my parents. This means that when I moved out, I moved away from him(he couldn’t live in a city).

Everytime I go home, its like a giant welcoming parade with him.

When I go on vacation, I honestly miss him more than my parents (DONT tell them!)

I would want to take him everywhere, but I dont know if he would like some of the places I’ve gone too 🙂

Whenever I go away even for a few hours I get the best welcome home hug from my dog and then a wet kiss on my cheek from my cat (I’m the only person in my whole family my cat actually allows to pick her up and hug and kiss her on her fat little cheeks so I get treated the same way, talk about reciprocity! ). This usually happens when I’ve gone out with my bf at night so the next step is jumpin’ on to bed with my furry babies like this: my dog on my right side and my cat on my left so it actually looks like a sandwich! My life would be so sad without them!

When i went away last year and the year before i missed Gannet terribly, my son and i talked about her all the time. And now i have my kiten Vince, who i have a very strong bond with. He likes to lie in my arms like a baby. Insists he sleeps with me. He is one spoilt cat.
I even asked my mum if he could come over with us on christmas day,as im going to miss him so much lol. Yes i am a CCL lol.
