Ten Days of Giveaways: Two Ways to Win Benefit’s Celebutante Set

December 29th, 2009 by Karen 427 Comments

  • UPDATE: Dec. 31, 2009. The giveaway is now closed, and the winner will be contacted soon. Good luck! 🙂

10 benefit-celebutante-1

Brrr! It’s so cold up in here, girls. I’m back home in frigid Novato, Caly-for-nigh-ay — home of the Mighty Marin Raccoons, yee haw! Tabs hasn’t stopped meowing since I walked in the door, and that was a half an hour ago. Lawd, he doth protest!

It’s awfully late here, but it’s not too late for today’s giveaway, yes? 🙂

The prize

One lucky lady will win the Benefit Celebutante set (a $34 value), with eight Benefit bestsellers including…

  • High Beam: a shimmery pink highlighter for the face and body (for swatches and a how-to, click here)
  • Benetint: a liquid, rose-colored cheek and lip tint (check out some swatches here)
  • Dallas: a shimmery peach blush (review and swatches)
  • Lip Gloss in I’m With The Band: a sheer, shimmery golden pink (review and swatches, also here)
  • Full-Finish lipstick in Lady’s Choice: a warm dusty rose/pink (here for swatches)
  • Full-Finish lipstick in No Competition: a deep plum (see some swatches)
  • Velvet Eyeshadow in Leggy: a shimmery light pink (swatches here)
  • Velvet Eyeshadow in Dandy Brandy: a shimmery golden brown (some swatches here)

OMG! I LOVE the celebutante set! I mean I’ve been eyeing this absolutely forever, ever since it was released. It’s sold out here though 🙁 I want this so badly.

I just found out today how to make my badgal lash work. I love my badgal mascara, but it doesn’t hold curls very well.. It seems too heavy and weighs down my lashes. That’s the same problem I had with Dejavu Fiberwig too.. It does wonders for the length, but no matter how much I curl it beforehand once I put on the mascara it becomes poker straight. And I NEED the curl to open up my eyes. So what I do is comb through my lashes with Maybelline Volum’Express Hypercurl Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara before loading up on Badgal Lash Mascara and before it dries I run through with one of my old Estee Lauder mascara wand to define.. You will gasp in pleasant shock at the result, I assure you 🙂 Never have I had lashes as dramatic as lash extensions/fake eyelashes but somehow looking like I was born with it.

And I’ve always loved Posietint but since I use Studiofix compact I find sometimes that when I try to blend it it looks terrible because the combo of the creamy gel-like blush and powder makes an uneven patchy mess. So I just got myself a BB cream, Missha Perfect Cover because I’ve never been able to make liquid foundation look good on me. And I must say, it’s another combination that works out wonderfully! The look is natural: dewy (the BB cream makes you radiant!), flawless and rosy.

Now I want everything else from benefit so I can find ways to make it work for me 😀

Can you BELIEVE I’ve never tried Benefit before, ever in my life? I would but it’s so expensive here! I don’t think they sell the Celebutante Set, I’m sure to cave if they did.

Hey Karen.. I’ve been following your blog from Norway… this benefit’s debutante set is like… a fantasy for me.. because there is no way I could ever get it, anything from debutante, as sephora doesnt ship things to norway…. if you would let me win this, you would give a girl 22/student a chance to try out the products she has been only dreaming of and read about… I mean, everybody is talking about benefit.. and esp their e/s and their highlighter… others may get this prize, but let me tell you… no other girl will be more thankful then me.. anyways, I hope everybody here has a great day..

Hi Karen! I love your blog!!!

I’ve tried a few benefit products so far ( The It Stick and You Rebel Lite Tinted Moisturizer). They’re ok, I thought I’d be more impressed for the price. They feel nice on my skin but don’t do as good as a job evening it out. I think this set would be a great way to try a different variety of Benefit products, like the eyeshadows, the Dallas blush, lipsticks, and the Benetint I’ve been dying to try. I have a feeling some products are better than others. Sign me up for this contest please!

Also I’m currently looking for a light foundation for fair skin. Do you have any suggestions? Is it best to go to a counter to get color matched? And which would you suggest?

So I went to Sephora this morning on a hunt for a new concealer, as I ran out of my cheapy Maybelline age rewind; and discovered that the NARS duo concealer in Custard & Ginger is on SALE for….. $10. Usually $30! I’m still giddy over my savings 🙂
