Tabs and I are watching Project Runway right now, and Tim Gunn seems like such a cool guy. I envy Tabs for being able to work so closely with him. What a tremendous opportunity — having Tim Gunn as your mentor. His insights into feline and human fashion are so simple yet eloquently stated, and he just seems like such a nice person on top of everything else (loved his book).
Tabs gets so many great opportunities like that… I wonder if he fully appreciates how lucky he is. I asked him about it once, how lucky he felt, and he said, “Mrrrow.” [The harder I work, the luckier I get.]

I had a meal outside just two days ago! It was a pizza late at night. The service was HORRIBLE and food not amazing, but I had great company so it was a fine autumn evening!

I just started watching Project Runway again…I was having a one-person boycott after Mondo Guerra didn’t win his season. His taste and mine are really similar — Mexican influence, pop art, bold prints, etc. Since he won the All-Stars season, I decided to give PR another chance. This season, I like Dmitry and Melissa the best…totally agree with the person above in disliking Ven since he dissed the “real women.”

I really liked Physician’s Formula pencils for their softness back in my smudgy eyeliner undergrad days. Now I mostly use brown Urban Decay liners.
I haven’t watch project runway in years, but my fav were Christian Soriano?, Rami, and Chris. They were all from the same season.
I honest, switch up products so often that i don’t have a fav. Every time I’m done with one brand i try another so i’m very unimpressed or really unfaithful. hah . But currently i’m using Make Up Forever Aqua liner and I really do love it because it doesn’t smudge by the end of the day/night, but still washes off easy.

I actually have tried to design my own clothes and accessories, in junior high I had made a jirt, cut the legs off a pair of jeans and sewn swatches of fabric to the bottoms, along with jean purses, those I was better at making.
I visited NY when I was 12. I was too young to appreciate it, so I cannot wait to get back.
I’m loving this cooler weather. I missed my sweaters and boots!
I am going on a cruise next year (June 15). And my goal is to lose 30 pounds and get rid of a few dark spots on my face. I have lost 10 pounds so far. Now I am working on the dark spots. Wish me well!!!!

I always use a black eyeshadow with a wet brush as my eyeliner. I found gels dry out too quickly, liquids are too harsh and unblendable, and pencils either run, rub off everywhere, or are impossible to remove!!
My favorite PR designer this season is Dmitry. But my favorite PR designer of all time? I don’t think I could pick just one!

Do you happen to remember his criticism of Taylor Momsen in an interview years back after meeting her on the Gossip Girl set? What did you think of it? The worst cold weather that I’ve ever experienced was in NYC. The temperature was below zero, but felt significantly worse with wind chill. My fingers were red, frozen sausages when I returned home. They were so numb that I couldn’t remove my coat because my fingers could not grasp the zipper.
New York! Haven’t been there, have friends there, though. We are planning a reunion next year, destination: New York.

I love Bobbi Brown’s gel eyeliner in black. Doesn’t smudge and goes on smoothly!
When I was little, my mom sewed all the time (she worked in a Singer store too) so I designed a few things. The one thing we both remember the best is a pair of pants made out of shiny brushed cotton. The pants were a medium shade of warm purple and the cargo-like pockets were turquoise and had purple buttons on the flaps. They were so cool. We even managed to find a floral fabric with the same colors on a white back ground, so mom made me a Summer top (a sleeveless peasant blouse with a ruffled collar and bottom) to go with the pants. I still have a few little pieces of fabric from the pants & the top. 😀
I’m very much into penny loafers this fall. Going to run out and buy a pair tomorrow, last time I had penny loafers Clinton was still in office.
I usually don’t like eating outside – the bugs are usually horrible! However, when you get the right time of year, when the weather is nice and the bugs aren’t out yet, I don’t mind. It’s been awhile – probably my last picnic, which has been at least a year ago!

Honestly, I don’t have a favorite black eyeliner! The closest was maybe WnW’s Creme Liner, but as for pencils, they all tend to smudge on me by the end of the day (especially on the waterline!). And I always prime, too. Sigh… This is such a first world problem, haha!

The coldest it ever gets in Lemon Grove is around 40F at night in the winter. Maybe 36F in a cold snap. The coldest I’ve ever experienced was -42F in Indiana. So freaking cold, your sinuses crystallized as you inhaled!

OMG, I just ate ate Sushi Deli Friday night. And boy was it delicious. Amazing chicken katsu and spicy california roll. Man, I need to go back there. The food was also cheap as well, I dont think it gets any better than that.

I just tried my new Giorgio Armani Waterproof Smooth Silk Eye Pencil yesterday (I have #2 which is a lovely brown) and it’s seriously AMAZING. I didn’t believe all the hype about it–I just figured that i had tried a lot of eyeliners in my day and the one I’ve had the most luck with is the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes pencils, but even they don’t stay put on my oily lids/small, watery eyes all day–especially on my waterline. But the GA stayed put on my waterline ALL. DAY. No joke, it’s amazing and I am in love. Definitely going back for the black one now!
I have two kinds of favourite black eyeliner! A glossy black dipliner from L’Oreal – super easy to apply and wears really well, and just a regular black soft pencil liner – my “secret trick” is to blend it with a liner brush to get a nice subtle smoky look.
I’m having a lazy sunday today! Had a busy week, going to play with makeup later and have some cake! Also planning a forest walk this afternoon with my kids. It’s going to be a great day…say hi to Tabs! (such a handsome cat)
My cat used to wake me up by giving me a kiss on my nose. To some it might sound gross, but it was the sweetest thing. I woke up smiling every day. I miss him so much!

Wow, another post to get me through yet another Sunday in lab…sometimes grad school sucks… Ven probably had the best design/technical proficiency, but I was so disgusted by the way he treated the “larger” lady in the “design for real folks” episode that I think he should have gotten the boot. That behavior has no place on my planet.
I just wish I could sew. I keep thinking I’ll do it someday, but I never get around to it. 🙁 I even went so far to buy some fabric and some patterns.

My mom taught me how to knit and cross stitch when I was younger, but I have never made an entire outfit. My mom used to sew, and I remember her making lots of frilly dresses for me when I little, but I am definitely a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl now.
I painted my son’s room yesterday to look like space. It took me 7 hours. he’s very happy. took me a lot of scrubbing to get the paint off my skin and out of my hair. I could really use a new brush head for my Clarisonic Mia. Have a great rest of the weekend.
Seattle girl here. The weather is mild here, with an occasional heat wave or “snowmaggedon”. It suits me just fine. Was in Boston this Summer and I felt like I was melting from the humidity! Had to break out with the dry shampoo to keep my locks from getting limp!

I am a boomeranger back to Fresno, CA, after a 13 year detour through Boston and Chicago. Fresno never gets very cold, so I can’t wear nice cold weather gear anymore. Ooh, girl, black eyeliner and I have a love-hate relationship. I have such a hard time finding one that doesn’t smudge onto my hooded eyelid after a few hours! Still haven’t found THE PERFECT eyeliner, but so far my favorites are Milani Liquif’Eye, Essence Gel Eyeliner and the Stila eyeliner pen (but the Milani one is a close second!).

It can get pretty cold here in the Nashville area–we’ve seen single digits before! But that’s just maybe 4 or 5 days out of the entire winter season–last year we didn’t even get one “good” snow storm (i.e. no snow days for teachers and students LOL!)
I design clothes all the time giving it my own touch and if something is not perfect I get really frustrated!! And have my mom assist me to fix it. I was deprived of having pets when I was a kid and am making up for it now. I got a kitty back in May and he is absolutely the center of my world now! So I’m very much into any and all things cat related. Anyways… I loved the web design you have of the cat silhouette and am making magnets using that as a template using shrink dinks. It’s my de-stresser, that and checking out your new posts of course. 😉 Hehe.

It doesn’t really get cold here in the Big D. I remember one Christmas it was a high of 60 outside! Although we did have a heavy snow one year and that was nice for a change! It can be hard to really get into the holidays when the weather is always warm.
My birthday weekend just passed!
I live in Western Arizona, so it doesn’t get too cold here at all. In fact, I haven’t bought or worn a real coat in years! I love that I don’t have to worry about driving in snow or scraping ice and snow off my car in the morning before work. But at the same time, it’s nearing the end of Sept and still seeing 106+ degree days. I’m ready for it to cool down a bit!

My first time ever leaving a comment on a website… I will go with my current favorite lipbalm: Smith’s Rosebud Salve Balm. I have tried lots of different lipbalms but keep returning to this one. It is moisturizing, not sticky, adds a slight tint of color and a glossy finish. Looks great on its own and one really cannot ask for much more than that from a lipbalm (except for, possibly, some SPF)! 🙂

Many times! It’s got s lot of great places to visit (museums, zoos, etc) but overall I don’t care for it. I’m really not a city girl.

I <3 Project Runway! Been watching since Season 1. This season I really like Christopher! Gunner was fun to watch & I was sad to see him go but he wasn't quite there. Dmitry is a great designer too! So much drama this season! Can't wait for the finale!

Hi Karen! I live in Iowa and winters can get really cold here! I saw -40 F once but winter average is 15-20 F.
