It really depends on what kind of trip it is.
If it’s a trip involving outdoor adventures like camping, or visiting the beach or a pool on any given day, then chances are the styling will be minimal — after shampooing and conditioning (I wash my hair every day), I’ll work in some leave-in conditioner, let it air dry and then do a ponytail, bun or a french twist with a claw clip. Maybe if I’m feeling ambitious I’ll comb the cray-cray baby hairs down with some brow gel.
Funny thing is whenever we take these kind of outdoorsy trips, even though I know I’ll be doing the bare minimum with my hair, that doesn’t stop me from bringing a styling tool every single time. What can I say? There’s something about having the option to do my hair that’s kinda comforting to me!
Case in point: right now there’s a t3 curling iron sitting in my luggage, and even though I probably won’t touch it during the trip, I like knowing it’s there in case I change my mind.
Now, if the trip centers around sightseeing in a city, then I’ll usually try to style it, even if it’s just a few loose curls with my curling iron, so my hair doesn’t look too crazy in pictures.
Is your vacation hair routine the same as your non-vacation hair routine? Do you bother styling your mane when you’re on a trip?

No, I wash it and comb it, maybe spritz the roots with a hairdryer, that’s it.
Where are you?

Sadly, my vacation hair is the same as my everyday hair. Which is just wash and go! If I have an event (home or away), I do make an effort to comb and fluff and hairspray so I don’t look quite so unkempt. 😉 If it’s a special event, I break out the diffuser, but that is rarer than a unicorn these days.
I hope you guys are having a blast in paradise!!

If by styling you mean blow drying, then I do it when vacationing in sophisticated, urban settings like NYC, London, Paris, Tokyo, etc.
I think when I’ve gone to Hawaii I’ve just washed it, ran a comb through it and let it air dry.

My waste-length hair is always wash and wear–very low maintenance. I do like to do things with it, but nothing elaborate or time-consuming. If we’re going out for the evening, I might do something a bit more polished , but that has nothing to do with being on vacation.
I hope you’re enjoying Hawaii with your wonderful family.

Every summer I do Keratin treatment. I no longer need to styling on vacation and worry about my frizzing hair when Meltemi starts blowing in the Aegean.

I got back from Costa Rica 2 weeks ago just yesterday and had it up in a hat every single day! It was super humid there and my hair was not happy. Since I’m out in nature every trip I make, I always wear at least a ball cap to shield my eyes from the sun (along with SPF 50, of course!). If weather cooperates, I’ll style it to go out in the afternoons/evenings.
Hope you’re having fun!

I usually don’t style my hair as I am mostly on outdoor or pool side vacations, but if it involves potential fancy dinners or city trips, I bring a styling tool with me.

I do exactly the same washing and waving treatment with my hair on holiday as when I’m at home and wear it in different styles too.
I was surprised to read that you wash your hair every day Karen. You have such lovely thick hair it doesn’t look as though it would need it?
