What’s a Drugstore Darling Product You Currently Adore?

Maybelline Blackest Black Lasting Drama Eyestudio
That’s Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black ($9.99) on my upper lash lines

Ooh! So I was rutting around in my makeup stash the other day, aka “organizing it,” (ah, the eternal struggle!) when I spotted what is hands down one of the best things (or at least my favorite things) available at the drugstore right now, a lovely pot of black gel liner by Maybelline.

A true black liner without any green or blue undertones, Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black is soft, smooth and easy to work with, and while I’ve never tried to wear it for 24 hours straight, I do believe it would be up to the task, because I have worn it for 12 hours at a time, and it has. Not. Moved.

Maybelline Blackest Black Lasting Drama Eyestudio

The pot comes with a brush…but I’d just ditch it. Or give it another task (nail art perhaps?), because it’s kinda hard to control and pretty much useless. Instead, I like to use my favorite angled eyeliner brush in the world, the NARS #47, to apply it.

And have I mentioned that Blackest Black is only $10??

HOLLA. If you’re interested, you can find it at drugstores, Ulta stores and ulta.com.

How about you, babe? What’s a drugstore darling product you currently adore?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Guess who shook her groove thang with The Purple Ones last night! I’ll give you one guess. Here’s a hint: she’s currently making toast for breakfast and singing Let’s Go Crazy. 🙂 I hope you’re having a kick-@ss year so far!

Happy New Year!

Drugstore eyeliners can be surprisingly good. I am still in love with Loreal Infallible Lacquer Liner.

Looks like you had fun last night. Happy New Year, Karen!Looking forward to see what the New Year brings!

I shoo drugstore so much that I just got informed of my dollars earned!

Nivea, Cover Girl Professional Curved Wand Mascara, Dove moisturizing body wash (got a triple-pack at Costco though), and Thayer’s Witch Hazel with alcohol are among the must-haves.

For someone who does not like rain, you sure did the purple thing!!

    Happy New Year’s Day!

Fuzzy head! I meant the witch hazel without alcohol! And I shop, not shoo!

I guess I’ll add Cerave cleanser & night lotion too.

Yep, that’s the gel liner that I use. And I agree about the brush, it’s totally useless! I have an angled brush that I bought from Sephora that I like pretty well. Though, me thinks I may have to look up that NARS brush. Side note: when I read the title of this post & saw your lippie, I was like, yay she bought the WnW 902C nude lippie. Then, I actually read the post. Lol. Needless to say, that Bare It All is my boo-thang. Really glad you enjoyed last night & rung in the new year like a #Boss

I loooove me some Prince, I would’ve went nuts even over the cover band! I bet it was awesome! Hope you had a great new year! I will have to try maybelline’s gel liner. I am using up my bobbi brown gel liners now but they make my wallet cry so I ended a cheap alternative.

The CoverGirl+Olay The De-Puffer under eye concealer! It’s not the most pigmented, it’s not a correcting shade – but it doesn’t ever make my under eye area look dry and that’s near miraculous! 😀 I love a lot of stuff from the drugstore but this is one that gets a lot of use and I actually have another tube of it in waiting which I basically never do. I’m also playing around with using it on my dry cheeks which are really hard to use makeup on without it giving me the polka-dotted settled into pores situation. I wish it didn’t have a fragrance, but it’s a minor quibble. I have a review/demo of it on my channel too and just included it in my yearly favorites. Love love love. 🙂

Happy New Year! I’m glad you got to see the bad. It must have been a blast.

I love a lot of drugstore stuff. Nyx has been wonderful, especially their Wicked lippies. Just about anything Nyx ranks from good to spectacular for me. L’oreal Silkissime eyeliner pencils are amazing! They’re as good as Urban Decay’s 24/7 pencils, IMO. I’m wearing the amazing Cobalt pencil today. Wet n Wild Megalast lipstick is fantastic and has really comfortable mattes. Wet n Wild Fergie eye primer. Physician’s Formula and Almay mascaras are staples for my sensitive eyes. Performance Colors eye palettes and Hard Candie’s Top Ten eyeshadow palettes have been very pleasant surprises this past year.

    Happy New Year, Karen!

I started to think about this and realised that I’m loving a whole bunch of drugstore products at the moment. In particular, the Rimmel Stay Matte and Lasting Finish foundations and their brow gel, the Bourjois One Second Mascara (I’m going out on a limb and saying its one of the best ever) and the eyeshadow palettes from Makeup Revolution, which is a similar range to MUA here in the UK. Total bargain prices but amazing quality shadows. I love their £1 lipsticks too, they have great pigmentation!

I have been loving Maybelline Baby Lips lately, which is super weird for me, as I’m not usually a tinted balm kind of person (it’s all about the lipstick for me). Since my lips have been super chapped as a result of a recent dip in the weather here, though, I’ve been loving that they’re more forgiving on dry lips and moisturizing while still having a little color to them. I’ve been wearing Peach Kiss from the classic line and Mirrored Mauve from the Crystal collection a lot lately.
I’m also loving Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink. I’m usually all about Luminoso for daily wear, but I found this one in my makeup drawer last week and have been wearing it ever since. I really love the finish; it’s just enough shimmer that it makes my skin look healthy and luminous but not so much that I look glittery.

    Happy New Year Karen!
Still use and love my Maybelline color tattoos nearly every day, in some form or another. The Maybelline fit me concealer has been my recent go-to, and the L’oreal silkissimi (sp?) liners have been fab! As per usual, I have a small store’s worth of Revlon lip products ^_^ For skincare, I found a gel moisturizer by Simple brand that is travel-friendly and great for my sensitive skin.

If you consider Ulta collection on the level of “drugstore” , then I really really like their nail lacquer. The shade “Grin & Berry It” is my favorite. Happy New Year!

I can’t go past Covergirl mascaras (any of them) and Revlon Photoready eyeshadow & creme to powder foundation. Revlon is expensive at chemists here in Australia (we don’t use the term drugstore…it has a completely different meaning!!). I buy Revlon discounted online.

All the awesome brands are so much more expensive over here…I look at the prices you pay in the US and am green with envy.

I buy high-end for mascara, blush, eye primer, face primer, eye shadow and usually foundation; however, one of the best foundations I have ever tried (and I have had the $80 a bottle ones, too) has to be Revlon Colorstay. I love that stuff more than all my super expensive foundations as I find it works better and lasts longer on my oily skin. It also doesn’t bother my rosacea and it covers my redness wonderfully. I used to use Bioderma Micellar Water but I hated the price tag ($22 a bottle up here in Canada), so I switched to Loreal Sublime Soft Micellar Water and its just as good in my opinion. Because I am such a lipstick fiend, I will often buy drugstore because I find them just as great and longlasting as any $40 lip color I have tried. I do not have a favorite brand for lipcolor as I shop them all compulsively! I also adore a lot of NYX and ELF products. ELF’s Studio High Definition Powder is amazing and the price tag is just as amazing as the product!

I use a good mix of designer and drugstore – I mainly use drugstore mascara now for the most part. Love that gel liner, but I don’t wear gels that much because of the time it takes me to apply them in the mornings. Once they are on they stay all day, but are not time savers for me.

My current fave liner is a double ended one by NYX – one side has a felt tip liner that is amazing, and the other side has a self-sharpening liner for smokey eyes. It stays on all day and is very easy to use. I also love the NYX Wonder Pencil for concealing zits. With a little of Milani’s Amber Nectar finishing powder, it stays in place all day (and I get a nice glow from the Milani powder!).

For mascara, I love L’Oreal Butterfly Intenza, Revlon’s Bold Lash Lacquer, and Maybelline Full N’ Soft. They are definitely among the best for me for drugstore mascaras. Happy New Year, Karen! It looks like you had a lot of fun!

I’m going to go with a fairly new purchase, back at the beginning of December and say my Max Factor Excess shimmer cream eye shadows. Such a beautiful texture and a wonderful pigmented finish that really does last all day. And because they’re so pigmented, they should last for ages as you only need a tiny amount. I went for Copper and my favourite, bronze.

Has anyone else tried the Blistex Lip Vibrance Lip Protector? It’s SPF 15, moisturizes and hugs the lips for several hours before reapplying, and it comes in a fantastic, universally flattering sheer & shimmery rosy color! Bonus? It’s only about $3.00! I find myself reaching for it all the time. I believe my other lip products feel very dissed!

I don’t buy drugstore products much at all, because most drugstore brands are animal-testers.
However, I do like Wet ‘n’ Wild’s Coverall foundation, and Milani’s Brilliant Shine lip glosses.
