What’s More Important to You — Groomed Brows or Lush Lashes?

January 16th, 2014 by Karen 37 Comments

Groomed brows or lush lashes?
My fuzzy litter caterpillars!

Ouch! Tough question.

I went back and forth on this one for a while, but my answer: groomed brows. That’s my final answer.

My whole natural lash situation isn’t particularly exciting. I have naturally straight, middling lashes — they’re not particularly exciting at all — so I do like to curl them and use mascara. I think I look brighter and more chipper when they’re done.

Buuut…if push comes to shove, I’m still choosing groomed brows.

Mine are the fullest they’ve been in years! — and when they’re filled in nicely, I think they draw more attention to my eyes. More than lush lashes do, anyway.

So, yeah. Team Groomed Brows. 🙂

How about you? What’s more important to you — groomed brows or lush lashes? (For the purposes of discussion, let’s pretend you can’t have both.)

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oh this one is so hard! You’re mean Karen. I would have to go with lashes, because I just can’t be without some mascara. But this one was tough, I love me some great brows (yours looks amazing always btw!).

    Eyelashes.

I really do not care about my eyebrows. My brow area is too sensitive to be able to groom them “properly” all the time, or even once. I do what I can, or want to, really, and that’s it. Groomed brows is not worth me crying for over five minutes because of pain.

Definitely lush lashes – my brows tend to take care of themselves, but I love having nicely done, thick, long lashes.

Nooo don’t make us chooooose! I guess I choose groomed brows then. I have a unibrow, so if I just let it au naturel I look like a cavewoman…

Groomed brows. I used to have neanderthal brows when I was younger. At least that’s better than having a unibrow, right?

Groomed brows. It may be irrational, but I feel disheveled when my brows get unruly. I can always fake lush lashes with mascara and falsies!

Because I don’t use mascara, I’ll have to say that groomed brows are more important to me. I’ll just a spoolie to comb my eyebrows and I’m good to go.

Now I can’t get “Only In My Dreams” outta my head!!!!!! Debbie Gibson is INFECTIOUS!

When I was younger, I would have said “lashes”; now I would say “brows.” But I really need to do both (to balance) or neither (au naturel.”

Brows, definitely! I can’t leave the house unless my brows are done. Too Faced’s Brow Envy kit is my one true eyebrow love. Makes my eyebrows look fantastic and natural. I over-plucked them too much a couple of years ago and they’ve never quite recovered, but that brow kit makes them look thick and full. Love it.

Lashes. I never groom my brows, I might possibly run gel over them before a long night out, but basically no.

Brows for sure for me. I have tiny stick straight lashes, so even with curling & mascara, they are hardly noticeable. so non-existent to hardly noticeable is not a big change. However, I have freaky brows where I have hardly any brow hairs from the middle outward. I fill in the outer halves to get those perfect face framing brows…makes a HUGE difference.

Team groomed brows ftw! On a minimalistic day, I will skip mascara in lieu of filling my brows. I look instantly more put together with a bit of fill.

I choose brows! I think brows make the face. I feel naked if my brows aren’t filled in and groomed.

I like to do at least brows and cheeks before leaving the house as a bare minimum.

This is such a toughie!! I can and usually do skip everything except brows and falsies so to choose between the two is just scary lol. I’d go with brows though. I can’t do anything to my lashes without taking care of these bald brows!

It’s funny you should pose this question as I take the bus to band practice (where I will see a handsome man) and realized to my Horror that I forgot my makeup bag. I am now sans mascara but my brows are on point. I guess I’m choosing brows!

    such a difficult Q!

i’d have to go with groomed brows. i have sparse brows, and i’m just now getting into filling them in and properly grooming them. they really do frame the face! I have decent lashes, so it’s not a big deal. although, i would like to curl them if i had to choose the well groomed brows. 🙂

    cheers to the weekend!

Lush lashes for sure. I wear glasses (black frames at that) which frame my eye area and magnify my (invisible) blond lashes. Without mascara I look downright wan, no matter what else I put on my face.

I’m with you, brows all the way. I was not blessed with naturally full brows, and they’re a bit on the blonde side. The brows frame the face, and are necessary, especially if I’m wearing glasses.

That is a tough question, and one decision I am glad I don’t have to make! I choose lashes, if I have to. My brows are no great shakes, but they don’t really grow. I don’t need to worry about them looking like caterpillars, but I do like to fill them in. I feel like I look really tired without curling my straight lashes and piling on the mascara. 🙂

Lush lashes, for sure. Dark-framed eyeglasses put the focus directly on my invisi-blond lashes. Without a few coats of dark mascara, I look wan and washed out.

Team Lashes! I like a groomed brow on most people. I have fairly nice brows naturally that only require plucking a few strays. I don’t fill them in unless I’m going for a dramatic look. I don’t know why but fully groomed brows on me seem aging. Lashes however make me look wide awake and sexy! I don’t do much there either just 1-3 coats of volumizing mascara and I’m good to go!

Brows all the way! I actually forgot mascara few times this past week–totally rocking the panda look–but I was okay with it. Stuff happens. A groomed brow shapes everything up.

I am team lush lashes! I love what a good groomed, filled brow does for my face… but I will mostly skip brows day-to-day. They have an okay shape, not incredibly full, but they aren’t little wisps, either. So they can hold their own, if that makes sense? My lashes are actually quite long and naturally curly, but they are more or less invisible without mascara. So I derive a great deal of enjoyment from teasing them out and coating them with mascara. It’s like a magic trick! They appear out of nowhere! So, my choice is lush lashes.

Fuller brows anyday. I can go without applying mascara (curling is out of the question, I never curl them 😛 ) but filling in my brows, I absolutely have to do.
