What’s Your Guiltiest Pleasure?

August 9th, 2009 by Karen 74 Comments

Watching Lifetime with Tabs

Mine is watching cheesy Lifetime movies on TV (click here for a gigantic database!).

Every time I do it, I know I’ve lost two hours I’ll never get back, but it’s relaxing and strangely recharges my batteries. One of my favorite things in the world is chilling out on the couch in front of a movie like Co-ed Call Girl (starring Tori Spelling!). For those two hours, my cares and responsibilities just float away. Forget cleaning the bathroom or bettering myself; sometimes my brain craves happy endings and pureed mush (the woman-in-peril ones are my faves!). 🙂

What’s your guiltiest pleasure? Please share in the comments.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

My guiltiest pleasure is watching CSI Las Vegas marathons with the bf while wearing our pj’s and eating ice cream/kettle corn and napping in between episodes 🙂

I know! The stuff is godly! I can’t ever describe the flavor to anyone who hasn’t tasted it other than Heaven in a Jar. The perfect mix of hazelnut and chocolate-ly goodness. My mom found it in (then) West Germany and found the confection shut me up (this coming from a baby that used to spit out her binkies after licking off the honey in the pediatric ward).

We couldn’t find it for years in the states except at high-end specialty stores. We eat it out of the jar with spoons when we get at the store! It remains a delicacy and not a staple so my mom and I don’t tire of it. 🙂

Right now sadly it’s dutch crust bread from Safeway (I know, it’s so bad for me) and that “Hitched or Ditched”. Actually, most of the CW’s progamming qualifies as Guilty Pleasure. They should just become the GP network, officially.

Oh I’ll tell you what WASN’T a guilty “pleasure”– “Obsessed”. I popped that into the DVD player and was ready to see Beyonce bring the beatdown while Idris looked all suited-up and HOT. However damn thing was slow as frozen molasses, poor Ali Larter was just not sexy enough, and Beyonce’s Annie-meet-Dereon weave acts better than she does. It wasn’t awful enough to be enjoyable, but not good enough to merit my rental price, either.

Now, if Beyonce played the stalker in full Sasha Fierce mode? You’ve got yourself a great “bad movie”.

    [end rant]
