Please let it be Dolce Vita. You’ve gotta get the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil version of it, though, not the lipstick. While the lipstick is pretty, I think the Velvet Matte Pencil is easier to apply and that much more user friendly.
It’s great if you want to wear something colorful on your lips that’s 1) low effort and 2) goes with most everything!
In the makeup I’m wearing today, I paired it with NARS Dolce Vita blush and Laura Mercier Strapless Caviar Stick cream shadow. I knocked a little bronzer (MAC Give Me Sun) into my crease for a touch of warmth, too.
Do you love Dolce Vita as much as I do? It’s a classic!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. Hope you’re having a terrific Tuesday!

Thanks for the recommendation! Love Nars. Love those pencils although I think I used up my last one and have nothing now.
Btw, you look stunning in this photo!
Also, have you watched Beef on Netflix? It is a must see as is The Power on Prime.
Karen says
Thank you! You’ve gotta get this pencil in your makeup bag ASAP.
Re: Beef. Yes, I watched it! So weird. I enjoyed it though.
Have you watched the Whitney Houston movie on Netflix?

Dolce Vita is one of my top five “can’t live without” lip products. I do wish it was an automatic self-sharpener…I hate sharpening it. I feel like it wastes so much.
I have not tried many cream shadow sticks. Do you have to wear a shadow primer with them?
You look beautiful today😊!!!
Karen says
Thanks for the complement, Mandy! 🙂
I’m not a fan of sharpening the pencil either, but eh, I figure because it’s so easy to apply, I can let it go.
Re: cream shadow sticks and primer, it depends on how oily your lids are and how lazy you’re feeling. Back in the day I would apply a layer of primer underneath. These days I skip it!
Hope you’re having a nice Tuesday so far!

Dolce Vita has been a favorite shade of mine for a while too! My favorite version was the original lip gloss because it was so pigmented. I got it in the afterglow sensual shine lipstick recently, but it’s more nude on me so I swipe it over the velvet matte lip pencil for a shinier look.

I love Dolce Vita. I’m probably on my 6th or 7th tube of it. Yes, tube. I hate lip pencils. I hate sharpening them. I hate when the cap comes off in my purse and ruins the interior. Just give me a bullet of lipstick please. I guess I’m old school, but lipstick in the twist up tube with a secure cap is the only way I roll.
