4 Mighty MAC Crease Brushes

February 9th, 2009 by Karen 24 Comments

Do you have a favorite crease brush? If I had to pick one (oh, the horror!), I’d choose the MAC 217. That bad boy’s smoother than Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together…

But who says there can be only one? Here are four MAC crease brushes to consider (click for the video).

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

My favorite crease brush is Trish McEvoy’s. I’ve had mine for years!

OMG you’re so right about the 217! You’d hafta pry that one out of my cold dead hand! I feel your pain with the 224, but it cranks for concealer!

My fav crease brush right now, is this one from Trish McEvoy. It is just the right combo of sturdy and soft…to blend away those harsh crease lines !

I have the 224 but I use it mainly for blending and a quick wash of colour all over the lid.
    I’d love to get the 217 and 226 though…

    Hey Karen,

I’m a monolid, do you have any suggestions for contouring? Keeping in mind my eye area isn’t that big 🙂

i feel the same with the 224, some days i love it, some days i hate it. 226 is more precise than 224 but still getting the hang of it. 217 does everything, i love it so much i have 2.

I love the 217 brush. I first bought the 224 brush because someone recommended that I should buy it to create the outer v look. It took a long time for me to get the hang of it. It never really looked right until I bought the 217. If I knew how great the 217 was before I bought the 224, I wouldn’t have bought the 224. 217 does everything!

    Hi Kimie,

I’ve never tried to use the 224 as a concealer brush… I’ll have to give that a go sometime. Do you use it wish liquid concealer?

    Hi Xtina,

I have a friend who works as a MAC artist and she has a monolid. She likes to use the 217. 🙂

You also might also want to look into the 226 because the head is smaller and thinner than the 224!

    Hi Victoria,

I am thinking I need to get a second 217, too.

Wouldja believe that for years I only used it for concealer? It took me awhile to figure out that it was great for so many other things.

    Hi Marisol,

Ahh the 224! Have you tried the 226 yet? It’s basically the smaller version of the 224.

    Hi Joanne,

I tried the 224 in the outer V a few times and I just couldn’t get it to work, either.

But yeah… I’m all about the 217! I think I need a few extras, LOL.
