Ask MBB: How Do I Stop My Liquid Liner From Creasing?

March 17th, 2014 by Karen 14 Comments

When it comes to liquid liner, to quote the great Mary J. Blige, “No more drama.”

I don’t want any crazy business when I’m tending to my lash lines, and I wager you don’t either.

In today’s installment of Ask MBB, MAC Senior Artist Victor Cembellin, all around cool guy and the dude you wish was your BFF, has the cure for liquid liner madness — also known as creasing.

Products mentioned…

  • MAC Liquidlast Liner in Point Black
  • MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner
  • MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack
  • MAC 266 Small Angle Brush

May your liquid liner always be like my tubby tabby’s fangs — razor sharp and feline fierce.

Meow ya later.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Hi Karen,

I have blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. Every beauty blogger I know loves taupe shades. Whenever I try to wear them, however, I end up looking very tired. (I’ve tried UD’s Mushroom, The Balm’s Selfish, and LORAC’s Pewter) Is there a way I can rock taupe shades and still look “bright eyed and bushy tailed?”

    Thanks!

Hey Lauren, your question intrigued me and when I looked up all the shades you mention trying, they’re all gray-brown taupes. Maybe you should look for a taupe with a different undertone – either purple or golden and see if you like that better. Purple toned shades that come to mind are Burberry’s Rosewood and Midnight Brown and MAC Satin Taupe. I consider MAC Woodwinked the perfect golden taupe. Hope this helps!

karen liquilast’m using the mac, and BlackTrack lately are my favorites

Now I would like to know if you have more brush from mac beyond the 266 to make the outlined kitten?

    XOXO

      Hi Thatiane,

I think you are asking if I use any brushes besides the 266 to do cat liner. Okay, I have a few that I like, but the 266 is probably my fave. I also like the NARS 38, which sis their version of an angle brush. I also like Laura Mercier’s pointed liner brush, too. 🙂 HTH!

    Hi Victor and Karen!

My ask MBB: how to make skin coverage make-up look as natural and undetectable as possible. I, personally, am only looking for sheer coverage.

    Thanks 🙂

I thought I’d add that my biggest obstacle is exaggerated dry flakes…

      Thanks again!
