For me Black Friday means sitting in my pajamas and eating leftover Thanksgiving pecan pie for breakfast.
And maybe also for lunch…
And perhaps dinner…
Aaand it also means playing Fill the Online Shopping Cart, which is a game I like to play where I see how much I can put into various online shopping e-carts with no intention of actually completing the checkout, and going “WOW!” as the tally grows into the thousands of dollars. 🙂

For MAC, Black Friday means another limited edition makeup launch on one of the biggest shopping days of the year.
This year, they’re putting the focus on lips with a new shade of Patentpolish Lip Pencil called Berry Black Friday. It’s a blackened plum with a shiny finish, and it’ll be $20, available exclusively on the MAC website (I believe it’s a one-day limited edition product available only on Black Friday).
If you like sheer-to-medium coverage dark lip shades, it’s a beauty.
I like colors like this one, which reminds me a little of an old-school Clinique Black Honey, because it lays down a good amount of pigment, but I can still see my natural lip color through it. That, and because it’s on the sheerer side, I don’t have to use it with a lip liner if I don’t feel like it. 🙂
Coverage-wise, the Patentpolish formula is flexible. When I apply Berry Black Friday, I usually just do it straight from the bullet for a sheer, but noticeable, blackened plum, but I also know that if I want to crank it up, all I have to do is apply it with a lip brush for more opacity.
Also, the moderately moisturizing formula feels nice and smooth. Lately my lips have been a High Flake Zone, particularly my bottom lip, but with Berry Black Friday, you can’t tell.
Wear time is around two or three hours, and I don’t really notice a flavor, but I can smell a very light vanilla.
What are your plans for Black Friday? Do you have any shopping lined up? I don’t think I’ll brave the crowds and traffic this year…but I do expect to be VERY concerned about the household pecan pie situation.

UMMM…. I think I love this. I’ve been off MAC ever since I realized that every single MAC lipstick I own dries out my lips (even the Lustre formula!), but I *need* this. Sheer plums are my jam!

It’s so funny, but I was thinking that the shade reminded me of a Clinique lip color, but I went totally blank. I knew it had honey in the name. I remember wearing that to work many years ago. It was pretty radical for me then.
I am staying away from the stores on Black Friday. I’m just glad I don’t have to work or drive a bunch of 14 year old boys to High School that day. The holiday season is no longer a crazy time for us, now that Zack is older and the “eight nights of gift giving ” is history. I plan on chilling and eating leftovers. I love making a Thanksgiving sandwich (just take everything and put it on a bun), YUM YUM!

I usually avoid shopping like the plague so there’s about zero chance that I’ll venture out on Black Friday. I’m sure I’ll check out some online deals, though. The boys just keep getting more expensive. HAHA!
Side note: have you seen Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella yet? I watched it last night and I think you’d really like it. Naturally, since I’m me, I cried about 1000 times. 🙂

I never go out to shop on Black Friday. I hate the crowds. I usually do some internet shopping, though.

I totally got sucked in with the color of this beauty! I ordered mine online at the comfort of my recliner chair? Forget the crowded malls—-I’m loving the bargains on some make-up on Mac seeing the 25% off on some of the Holiday colors. Btw…..the blackberry shade is cute on you!
