To all current and future employees of Tabs the Cat Industries, LLC:

It has recently come to the attention of management that several employees celebrated National Cat Day yesterday, October 29.

While the formal acknowledgement of the fabulousness of felines is always encouraged, we would like to take this time to remind you that, here at Tabs the Cat Industries, every day is Cat Day.

Purr the management, please advise your teams that kitty-themed clothing and makeup are mandatory components of the company dress code.

Please direct all inquiries regarding this memo, or eye makeup looks, like this bronze and brown smokey cat eye using products from the new MAC Stroke of Midnight and Noctural holiday collections, to Karen in the executive offices, care of Tabs the Cat. Karen would be happy to purr-vide you with further details.

Uh…did anyone else watch The Voice last night?

I have not been able to get this song out of my head all day long.

It’s more than a fee-ling!

I feel so butt-rocky right now…

Hey Karen! That eye palette looks great! What did you think of the quality of the individual eye shadows? Is it worth buying?

      Hi Ki,

Do you mean the individual shadows that are sold as singles in the permanent line? Or the individual eyeshadows in the palette? Lemme know!

The colours of that eye palette are stunning. I’m really loving Midnight Hour, I wish it was permanent!!

      Hi Sylvia,

Me too. It’s a lovely shade to wear along the lash line or outer corner.

You are stunning! You also inspired me to get the Zella bag (way back in Dec 2012) – and it’s been my go-to gym bag since then!

      Hi Ellen,

      Thank you!

I’m so glad to hear you love the Zella bag. Aren’t those zippered pockets in the front the best?

Also, have you tried the Zella Live-In Capri Leggings?

The zippered pockets are the best – one for chapsticks, one for my water bottle, one for miscellaneous…

I haven’t tried the leggings, but I’m dying to! I was pregnant throughout last winter, so I didn’t want to get things that I’d just stretch out 🙂

What an absolutely gorgeous look. I love the eye and lip look, but also, it’s just not fair how lovely Orgasm blush looks on you!! On me it is pure orange-gold shimmer (Bleh!!) , but then I am a lot yellower than you I guess. Jealous!! I’m going to see if I can make it look like this by using it with Albatross and Laguna, but I’m not holding my breath LOL.

      Hi Bella,

You can do it. 🙂 What brush are you using? You might want to try a different brush (fan or a skunk) to see how that changes the final look.

Also, try tapping your brush off first, and then really buffing a small amount of Orgasm onto the cheeks. I sometimes hang out there for about a minute. Buffing seems to mellow out the shimmer.

Or you might want to try mixing in a bit of your favorite matte peach or pink. Try a 50/50 mix with Orgasm and see where that takes you.

HTH! Let me know if you have any other questions.

      You’re welcome, Charisma.

I have a couple of these shadows in individual pans (Mulch and Amber Lights) and reach for them all the time. This kit is very wearable!

I love the little brush kit and the palette but find the markup for CAD price quite surprising but still might have a closer look at the paint pot, not only this shade but the others too. 🙂

Hey Karen! What are your thoughts on these brushes? How do they compare quality-wise to the regular MAC brushes? Is it worth saving some money or is it better in the end to buy the regular brushes?

I have the Mineralize brush set and I’m really disappointed in it. These are my first MAC brushes too. The eyeshadow brush leaves my palettes a mess – there’s a lot more loose shadow in the pan than with my other brushes and I don’t feel like it deposits color as well either. The blending brush does its job, but feels scratchy against my eyelids, like something is poking me. The face brush is the worst. It’s scratchy and the black bristles are constantly shedding on my face! Some are bent at weird angles too. I feel like I am using the worst ELF brushes, not MAC brushes.

Love that pic of you and Tabs! Your eye makeup looks gorgeous.

National Cat Day is pretty much every day around our house too. I celebrated by buying some catnip and lint brush refills. 🙂
