MAC Unsung Heroes: Dollymix Sheertone Shimmer Blush

June 11th, 2011 by Karen 45 Comments

Okay, okay. So I know this bright hot pink looks totally and completely scary in its pan, but I swear, MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in Dollymix ($19.50) will not leave you looking like a creepy, horror movie clown. Scouts honor!

When applied with a light hand, this bright rosy pink gives cheeks a charming flush with a light sheen, like you’ve been skipping around the neighborhood hand in hand with your BFF, covertly cradling a basket filled with contraband flowers stolen from your neighbor’s front yard (er, not that I’d know).

It doesn’t take much Dollymix to deliver a natural flush, and one pan should last roughly, well, forever. I’ve had mine since 2007, and even though I use it a few times a week (I like to apply mine with a fan brush), I’ve barely made a dent in the pan.

Lighter lasses, do not fear Dollymix’s bold statement. I think it looks gorgeous on pale princesses, too. I’ve also seen it grace both NW and NC gals, and I’ve liked the way it looks on everyone.

This blush is the bomb. My favorite way to use it is by lightly applying it to the apples of my cheeks and then applying trace gold over it and up on my cheekbones. I just may have to do this blush combo tomorrow!

I’m an NC30 and Dollymix was my first MAC blush. Hit the pan, wiped the pan clean and everything! It was an absolute MUST even if I go barefaced because I tend to look pale but Dollymix makes me look so freaking healthy!

Thanks for reminding me about this blush! Should get it ASAP

I always look at Dollymix in the store, put it back, and then pick it up again. I own so many blushes I don’t know how I’ll justify getting another one. Perhaps one day I’ll bring Dollymix home.

This blush is beautiful! I know I wouldn’t have even swatched it if I’d seen it in the store because of how it looks in the pan. I’m definitely picking it up next time I’m at MAC. Thanks!

I love this blush so much! I have pale Asian skin and I think this blush looks more flattering on me than any of the more popular coral shades. Some days I feel too lazy to wear any make up but feel like I need a little something to make myself look and feel happier, and I always go for this blush!
