My Monday MAC Colour Forecast Face of the Day

February 8th, 2010 by Karen 85 Comments

Sheesh! Again with the gray skies? I’m so over winter, ladies. I almost lost my sunny disposition this afternoon until I busted into MAC Spring Colour Forecast, bumped some reggae and pretended I was getting ready for a party at the beach. 🙂

It’s a pink, purple, gold and blue eye with coral cheeks and shiny violet lips. For the eyes, I mixed the shimmery pinks and purples from Crush Metal Pigment in Stacked 1 with MAC Pigment in Melon (a shimmery, peachy gold) and Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Jinx (a shimmery teal). Then, I upped the drama with black liner using MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack (a matte black) along my upper lashline and MAC Technakohl Liner in Graphblack on the waterline.

I wanted to make sure my cheeks wouldn’t compete with the eyes, so I went with something semi-matte, in this case MAC Ombre Blush in Ripe Peach (a coral).

Lastly, on my kisser, my new favorite Lipglass combo: MAC Purple Rage coupled with Lavender Wind.

Now where’s the button that fast forwards us through the rest of winter? I need that button NOW! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

OH my god, Karen! That is the prettiest eye I have ever seen! It’s so subtle, though, unlike many colorful drag-ish looks. Haha! It reminds me of a parrot. It’s so pretty!!!!

I did something new today! I mixed DuWop Foundation of Youth with Laura Mercier Oil-Free, and then topped it off with MAC Prep + Prime Powder.

What did you end up getting at the launch? It was so great to finally meet you in person, btw! 🙂

One fantastic way to explore the genre is to go to Pandora. Pop “Lady Saw” into the “Create a Station” bar and let Pandora do its thing… you’ll then get to listen to a mix of reggae music!

H.O.T. Karen! I’m so excited because I’ll get an up-close view of the collection on Thursday. MAC at my Macy’s is doing an event to introduce the collection. I already have a list of a few things that I want, and this FOTD helped me too! LOVE the blush on you; very natural. I was torn between this and Alalea Blossom, but I really like the Ripe Peach, and our coloring is similiar. The husband’s off that day too, and I think we’re gonna get lunch in and see a movie as well before picking up the girl’s from school…CAN’T WAIT! 🙂
