A Pink and Bronze Face of the Day Using the NARSissist Eye Palette, With Help From MAC and Urban Decay

January 23rd, 2014 by Karen 25 Comments

A few things…

First, this morning I tried on a pair of skinny jeans I ordered online and got stuck in them.

Seriously.

Apparently, I wasn’t paying close enough attention and ordered the wrong size.

Yeah…

I’d managed to shimmy into them up to my thighs when I realized that something was very wrong, and if I’d kept going, I’d need prayer and the Jaws of Life to get out of them.

Jesus, take the wheel!

Lesson learned here, kids. If you’re going to purchase the Citizens of Humanity Avedon skinny jeans, go up at least one size.

Second, SWV lives!!!

I found them while channel surfing last night. SWV Reunited on WE. The combination of early ’90s R&B and reality TV gets me weak in the knees… I can hardly speak. I lose all control. Then something comes over me… 🙂 Hahaha!

Third, I realized this afternoon that pinkish bronze metallic eyes are totally fun. And not too hard to create, believe it or not! I got the idea from a pink and bronze eye look I saw on UD’s website.

For this face of the day, I went with a few products from MAC, NARS and Urban Decay.

I didn’t want to spend forever and a day blending, so I started by applying MAC Indianwood Paint Pot on my lids and in the crease for a creamy base that I could just blend the lid color into without any fuss.

Then, I wet a brush and applied NARS Nepal eyeshadow, a soft sheer rose from the NARSissist Eye Palette, on my lids.

Next, right at the edge of that pink shadow, I ran a smidgen of velvety cocoa Fez, also from the palette, to darken the crease, ever so slightly.

For my water lines, I did — surprise! — MAC Costa Riche, and for my lower lash lines, more Fez, this time blended out with a little Madrague II, also from the NARSissist palette.

To finish the eyes, I filled out my brows with Hourglass Arch Brow Pencil (I’m back in love with it again) and thrice coated my lashes with MAC Extended Play Gigablack Mascara.

Cheeks? More NARS! I used tea rose Love Blush on the apples.

Lastly, for my lips, I did the nude lip combo I told mentioned earlier using MAC Boldly Bare Lip Pencil and Urban Decay Naked Lipgloss in Liar.

Hmm… Now where can I go with this on? I do have to run to the post office today. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love what you’ve done with the eyes! I steer clear of pinks but a pink bronze looks stunning, gonna try that!

Gorgeous! What a soft and pretty look. It reminds me of springtime!

You know, if you’re gonna get stuck in clothing, better at home than in a dressing room at the store. I’ve had a couple of close calls and was scared I’d need to flag someone down to help me! 🙂

    Karen, you look beautiful!

I love this look, it’s so pretty! I can see it being a great spring smokey eye.

Love it! That eyeshadow is gorgeous. I am so on a pinky bronze/rose gold kick – it is such a flattering color on pretty much everyone and I get lots of compliments on my eyes when I wear UD Naked 3. NARS Galapagos is another new fave of mine – NARS has so many great products out there!

Looks lovely Karen! Could you give your advice on the Nars palette, as far as how the quality of it compares to Nars singles or duos? I don’t want to spend that kind of $$ if the quality isn’t what it should be. Thanks!

I did something similar to this recently using all UD Naked 3. I’m loving rose everything right now!

You are glowing in these photos, Karen! I really need to add more rose hues into my eye shadow routine. It seems like rose/pink shadows are a great way to create a neutral eye look that’s a bit different from your typical browns (which I love, but still!).

Karen, I love this look. I have been creating similar looks recently with my UD Naked3 palette, I cannot get enough of it, it’s so pretty, especially combined with the new UD Naked lip gloss!

Soooo pretty!! And love the products mentioned! I’m considering getting the Narsissist palette, because (GASP) I do not own Orgasm or Laguna! i mean, they are as tale as old as time, but I think they’re beautiful colors and textures and just worth owning. especially with that lovely highlighter! Anyhow, just ordered the Naked gloss in Lovechild… awaiting its arrival with anxiety!

Yay! I was hoping to see your take on that UD ad look soon! 🙂
I keep meaning to have a go myself, but I don’t seem to have the time at the moment to actually sit down and put on eyeshadow (it takes me a while, hah!)

Oh, this is a great look. Very pretty.

The last thing I want to do when buying jeans is order a size UP. The horror at even thinking of it. 🙂

I want to die of envy because you have that palette. But then, I have both Nepal and Fez in single and palette form, and madrague duo, so guess what I’m wearing tomorrow :D?
