Pedicure Me with Essie Art of Spring

February 10th, 2010 by Karen 45 Comments

Heya, ladies. 🙂 It’s official: we defeated Wednesday, WOOT! And to celebrate our victory, I plan to enjoy a glass of wine while I watch Burn Notice and paint my shaved toes with one of the colors from Essie’s new Art of Spring collection.

Can you help me decide which color to use ?

I’m leaning toward Red Nouveau, but I’m open to suggestions. 🙂

So how’s it going tonight? What are you up to?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. I’m sorry you East Coasters are getting pummeled by heavy snow (hang in there!), but if you happen to be near Broadway in NYC on Friday between Broome and Spring Streets, keep a look out for the Benefit CupcakeStop truck. To celebrate the launch of Sugarbomb (their new boxed blush), Benefit will be selling special Sugarbomb cupcakes made for the occasion. Oh, and the first 300 Sugarbomb cupcake customers also get a free Benefit Sugarbomb Blush ($28 value)! The sale starts at 9 a.m.

I like the lilac/lavender looks but I am partial to purples and pinks so I’m biased.

Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, I vote for Red Nouveau. Any plans with El Hub?

I worked a half day & had an early dinner with a friend. Drinks were a must so I am feeling no pain. One more day of work and then I have a 4 day weekend. Woot woot!

        How fun! Wine tasting? 🙂

Tomorrow I am meeting friends for lunch and then happy hour later on. Most of the weekend I will spend doing some early spring cleaning. working on resume and reading. I also got to get my documents in order to start doing my taxes. I may have to go to an accountant this year. Bleh… the good ole days of the 1040-EZ are long gone.

I did try the Gaga lipstick today. My lips are too pigmented so I used a base and then applied the lipstick. Better color payoff and I liked how it looked. I added a shimmery gloss and then really liked it.

That sounds really pretty. Do you have Dervish Lip Liner? I saw a MAC MUA wear Gaga with Dervish underneath… it looked really pretty!

I bought Van D’Go and loved the colour so much but … the application was TERRIBLE. I just could not get it right – so much that I returned it to Ulta. If you can get the application better than I can.. I say go for Van D’Go!

Same here. I thought the formula was horrible. I usually love Essie but I don’t know what was up with this polish. I would love one of their sheers in this sort of melon though.

You guys, a few in this batch were very challenging. Patience (which I don’t always have) seemed to be a virtue in applying both Van D’Go and Tarte Deco.

The reds, purples and pinks applied like a dream, though!

I’m wearing Neo Whimsical on my fingers right now! It’s a pretty color (I wish it wasn’t so streaky, though) and I wanted it to be more purple…so Van D’Go! This weekend, I might have to go back and pick that one up. Plus, I love van Gogh, so it’s probably a win-win.

For a watching a show that takes place in Miami, I’d say Tart Deco or Red Nouveau!

Those are super cute colors! I really like this collection, although I’ve been steering away from pretty and going more towards Rouge Noir or the new purple by Nars!

I’m really into the Lilacism, but if you’re going for toes, and seeing as it’s still snowing here in the Chicago area, go for the RED. va voom!

I love tart deco! It looks so good with your skin tone on your hand! I just got candy apple mint by essie and while it is not a pink or lavender shade, it is still a spring shade to me!! I know it was a winter ‘trend’ the mint nails, but it could easily be an easter shade!!

I’m convinced Lilacism looks good only on darker skintones. I’d pick the polish you feel most romantic and girly in.

Tonight, it’s time to break down on my homework. Lazy and Pain have been my middle names the past week. I missed Tuesday and Wednesday so I SHOULD have been working on my homework, but I didn’t. Oops.
