Eco Lips Launches Edible Lip Line

November 13th, 2008 by Karen 12 Comments

I’m starving! Where the heck did I put my lip balm?!?

Organic lip balm maker Eco Lips has created a 99 percent organic and 100 percent edible lip line. Pure & Simple joins the company’s growing batch of organic lip products. The “recipe” includes organic sunflower seed oil, organic beeswax, organic flavors and vitamin E and will come in three flavors — kiwi-strawberry, coconut and grape ($1.99 each).

I don’t mind the idea behind tasty lip products, and bravo that these are also mostly organic, but when I wear flavored stuff on my lips I tend to lick it off, immediately. I can’t refrain. If it’s yummy and it’s right there, I lick and smack and … DANGIT!

How do you feel about edible lip products?

P.S. Eco Lips even makes a Red Bull-ish energizing lip balm infused with caffeine, green tea and vitamin B12. WEIRD!

I’m with you, if something’s flavored and on my lips I have a tendency to lick it off, so I guess it’s a good thing that these are edible 😛

On a completely random note: I love b12. My friends make fun of me because I take it for energy. I swear it works! haha.

Hi Karen, I was just looking on MAC’s website when their new mascara called Dazzlelash caught my attention. Have you heard about/tried it?

    Hey Karen,

I love it…as long as it’s not too candy-like sweet, I don’t lip products that taste like food right under your nose. I hope they bring those around here though. we have Labello. sometimes known as Nivea lipcare. It’s not organic or anything but they have fruit scents which are really suble you only feel when you’re applying and have a light tint of color. Think Chapstick..I suppose..hihi
Oh by the way, sun protection would make all of these a whole alot nicer.

Its weird for me…coz I never lick my lips and I don’t like food flavored products most often. But its nice that its organic and for those who in the habit of licking it off…they don have to worry about harmful chemicals !!

I love tasty lip products, but I tend to lick them off too. I’m trying to stop doing that, but they’re so yummy!

This is a good idea because people inadvertently eat some of their lip products anyways just buy wearing them.

i don’t think its an awesome rad idea. it is pretty creative though. i mean, a lot of people lick their lip balm and now that its organic and edible, people go right on ahead and lick away.

uh, no thanks.. I don’t mind if I accidentally licked off some sweeter smelling lip gloss on my lips-BUT i don’t exactly enjoy it. I’ll stick to the real fruits, please!
