Keira Knightley: Her Best Hair?

April 17th, 2009 by Karen 15 Comments

Keira Knightley's best hair?

From the wee age of three, Keira Christina Knightly (born March 26, 1985) knew she wanted to be in pictures. She begged her mother for an agent, and finally, at the age of six, she got one as a reward for studying hard.

The first time I saw her on screen was in the 2003 movie Bend It Like Beckham. I thought she was lovely, and that short hair — so spunky!

Since then, Keira’s star has steadily risen. She’s appeared in a host of blockbusters like Pirates of the Caribbean (yargh, mateys!) with my man Johnny Depp…

… and been up for some big awards already, earning Best Actress nominations from the Academy Awards and Golden Globes for her roles in Pride and Prejudice and Atonement.

Throughout her career Keira’s changed her hair often, going from short to long and dark to light. She always looks distinctive and sassy with short hair, but I dig those long locks, too.

Which of Keira's hairstyles do you like most?

Have You Tried Chanel Lift Lumiere Foundation?

April 16th, 2009 by Karen 22 Comments

chanel-lift-lumiere

The Internets are back, yea! I’d just about given up on getting online again today, but the broadband ferry must have stopped by while I was at the mall peeping Chanel’s newish Lift Lumiere foundation (sorry about the stalkery camera pic). Have you tried it yet?

Chanel refers to Lift Lumiere ($65) as a moisturizing anti-aging foundation that tightens skin and diminishes the look of fine lines. I need some tightening and diminishing, LOL!

It’s a liquid foundation, and I like that it comes with a pump, which means you don’t have to dip your fingers in it. I’m not crazy about the $65 price — actually I hate the price, and I wasn’t ready to throw down for an entire bottle, so I snagged samples in three of the nine colors: Natural Beige 4.5, Naturel 5.5 and Tawny Beige 6.0.

I hope one of the three shades I picked does, in fact, turn back the hands of time to those kinder, gentler years when everybody carried pagers, and I was still referred to by strangers as “Miss.” 🙂

Well, I’m getting ready for a quick run. I haven’t been jogging in the mornings this week like I’d intended to, but it happens. Better now than never.

What have you been up to today? Holla back at your girl!

April 16th, 2009 by Karen 62 Comments

Hi, chicas! I woke up this morning to some Internetz trubs, so until my new friend from Comcast works it out, I’ll be improv blogging from my phone.

I know these pics of the new Sonia Kashuk Spring Treasures collection ($13-20) look kinda Blair Witchy, but I couldn’t wait. I’m testing these out today, and so far so good with the brushes. The heads feel super soft (like Tabs’s fur!).
