Heads up, bargain hunters. There’s a huge sale on Cargo cosmetics over at Sephora.com, with products discounted up to 50 percent. A friend of mine who works there told me they’re phasing the line out of stores, so stock up! Pick up the Tahiti Color Eyeshadow Palette, on sale for $14, before it’s going, going, gone (see it in action here and here).
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

It’s my firm belief that a girl can never have too many 1) pairs of cute underwear, 2) shoes or 3) nude lip combinations.
My new favorite nude lip combo is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Naked ($16) layered on top of Cargo Blue Ray High Definition Lip Gloss in Belize ($24). I’ve been wearing it all week long. 🙂
Naked’s a creamy neutral pink pencil that glides on smoothly and moisturizes well, while Belize — a thin, non-stick shimmery warm pink gloss — plumps and ramps up the shine.

It’s hella cherry blossom central out here, ladies! I’m talking about the Japanese Tea Gardens in Golden Gate Park. El Hub and I spent a couple hours there yesterday. I really needed a little time to relax, so we walked around the gardens, took a billion pictures of blooming cherry blossoms and shared a pot of Jasmine tea. If you’re ever in the area and looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, you could do a lot worse.
Mother Nature was all up in the house! The garden was bursting with pink, magenta, yellow, green and blue. With spring colors on my mind, I dove straight for the Cargo Tahiti Palette ($28) as soon as I got home.
The palette comes with four shimmery shades of royal blue, yellowish green, emerald green and jade. The mere sight of it teleports me back to the tea gardens.

What’s up, ladies? TGIF! I hope it was a good week for you. Mine felt like it flew by quicker than Ralph Tresvant’s solo career. Exciting new spring makeup from DuWop, MAC and Dior helped to pass the time. 🙂
Yesterday I played with some of the new products and put my camera to the test. Stay tuned for full reviews of Fountain of Youth Foundation, Circle Block Concealer, Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and Coral Riviera Blush over the coming days. 🙂
Since I was in the mood for some color in the look, I went with a green and blue eye using Cargo Tahiti Palette and Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Liner, finishing with a shimmery coral lip using Dior Addict Gloss in Coral Lame. Side note: Coral Lame was a limited edition gloss, but if you’re looking for something similar, try Laura Mercier Lip Glace Lipgloss in Bellini. 🙂

Cargo Plant Love Eyeliner’s ($16) soft, creamy texture glides on smoother than a ’90s Babyface ballad, and just like one of his sexy slow jams, it holds up well over time.
If I swipe some on my lash line before my first cup of coffee in the morning, Plant Love’s rich color lasts until my last gulp of Sleepytime tea at night.
Fans of Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils might find a lot to like about Plant Love. It has a similar texture and longevity, but Urban Decay liners set quicker. Plant Love stays smudgeable for about three minutes versus 30 seconds for Urban Decay. The extra time comes in handy when I’m doing a smokey eye with lots of blending and smudging.
There are six liners in the Plant Love liner collection. I’ve taken a look at Midnight Blue and Black.

I really wanted the Cargo Holiday Nights ($25) kit to BRING IT. First, there’s that sexy satin box (love it!); then, there’s the dreamy, deep midnight blue eyeshadow (LOVE IT!).
But, alas, it looks like the products in this seven-piece eye and cheek kit were designed to heat up someone else’s holiday parties (*tears*). The silver, blue, charcoal and pink colors that grace the set are just too cool for my skin tone.
No matter how I combined the four eyeshadow colors (and lawd knows I tried to MAKE IT WORK, Tim Gunn style), the results looked chalky. Beyond the shadows, even the pink blush is too light for my brown skin.
Swatches from left to right: Face and Body Glitter, Boogie Nights Eyeliner in Silver, matte pink blush, shimmery white eyeshadow, shimmery silver eyeshadow, shimmery midnight blue eyeshadow, shimmery charcoal eyeshadow
Still, this set is hot, priced affordably and should really burn brightly on gals with lighter skin tone. All four of the eyeshadows and the blush possess rich color payoffs. Because of the lightness of these particular hues, the kit doesn’t work for every audience, but, irrespective of my inability to pull off some of the colors, the products themselves are top notch.
The Silver Boogie Nights eyeliner and silver Face and Body sparkle dole out fun touches of glitter without looking garish. My cool-toned hotties and pale beauties should be able to rock this set harder than I could!

Boogie nights! Keep on dancing… keep on dancing. BOOGIE NIGHTS!
Whew. Sorry, I just had to get that out of my system. It’s just that whenever I use the eyeliners from the Cargo Boogie Nights Eye Pencil Set ($18), I can’t help but burst into song (please tell me I’m not the only one who does this).
A limited-edition release for the holidays, the Cargo Boogie Nights set comes with five glittery, mini eyeliners and a sleek case that fits snugly in the palm of my hand.
