BECCA Dragonfruit Beach Tint Feeds Dragons, Tints Lips and Cheeks

January 17th, 2013 by Karen 50 Comments

Becca Dragonfruit Beach Tint
Wearing Becca Dragonfruit Beach Tint ($25)

It’s what I feed my dragon, and he lurves it. 🙂

Dragonfruit. I don’t even know what that is. It sounds vaguely Asian and familiar, like something my friend Cindy’s grandmother tried to feed us back in the day.

I do know what a BECCA Beach Tint is, though, because I’ve been wearing them for years. Dragonfruit ($25) is a relatively new one from BECCA. Came out in the fall, and it’s made its way into their permanent line.

A multi-purpose poppy pink lip and cheek product (say that five times fast!), part blush, part lip stain, pure convenience, and it’s water-resistant, too.

The only downside I can see: you might not want to wear any other blush.

I love this color! It’s brightening, goes great with warm and cool eye makeup shades, and it doesn’t even require a brush to apply. Lazy girl love , to infinity and beyond!!

Oh, and it smells and tastes like Sweet Tarts. Faintly. Or maybe it’s Dragonfruit. I’m just not sure. 🙂

It looks so pretty! I don’t even know if we can get BECCA here, but I want it.

How does it fare on lips? I find a lot of multipurpose cheek/lip products get complaints about being drying.

      Hi Nicole,

It wears really well on the lips. Stays on for hours, even through a meal, and fades evenly. It’s non-drying, too.

I’ve tried two of these tints and for some reason I just don’t like the consistency or the smell. I prefer YSL creme de blush so much better.

      Hi Lilly,

I hope you do. Even though it was a fall launch, it should be fab for spring/summer.

Happy Thursday, btw! Any plans for the weekend yet?

      Hi Danielle,

I use my fingers to pat and blend onto cheeks and lips. I usually wear ’em either on bare skin, or on top of tinted moisturizer or foundation.

I have one of these and I want to love it, but every time I go to use it, it has separated in the tube and all of the oil comes shooting out all over the place. Do you think I might have gotten a defective one?

      Hi Sneha,

Have you tried shaking the tubes first? That should help with any separation issues.

Hmm I don’t hear so much buzz about Becca products very often but they seem to have a consistently quality line from what I can gather online. And you’re right, Dragonfruit is Asian! They’re a really bright shade of fuschia; I remember thinking how pretty the color was when they stained my fingers as a kid.

Well, I took the plunge and got this one and the Watermelon tint. Was debating on the guava tinted one. Maybe, later. Wished they still sold the strawberry tint since the swatches online looked like a beautiful orange based red color.

Tried dragonfruit the last time I was in Thailand. It looked so pretty. I had to buy one from a sidewalk vendor. I was so disappointed to discover that it doesn’t have an exotic taste. It tastes like water. I was told people usually eat it if they’re on a diet.

I’ve never used becca before, Karen n tabs, what other products and shades would you recommend from them for an asian light skin girl? (I use light in smashbox bb cream or 020 in dior nude liquid foundation). Thank you 🙂
