Flowers Will Bloom, Birds Will Sing and Cheeks Will Glow When You Wear the New BECCA Mineral Blushes in Hyacinth, Lantana and Nightingale

Flowers, birds, brights and BECCA — four of my favorite things. 🙂

GURL, there’s so much to like about these new BECCA Mineral Blushes that I don’t even know where to start. Bright poppy pink Hyacinth, reddish poppy Lantana and deep mulberry Nightingale are the latest additions to the brand’s bodacious Mineral Blush line, and if you have medium-toned or darker skin (or, if you just dig blushes with cray-cray intense pigment), you’re gonna freakin’ flip your hair when you see these new powder blushes.

Have you tried any of BECCA’s Mineral Blushes before? If you haven’t, then dude! — get on that ASAP. Seriously, put it on your to-do list, because their blushes are the best. THE BEST. Like, if the makeup police ever confiscated all of my other blushes and said, “K, you are hereby ordered to only wear BECCA blushes for the rest of the year…” I would actually be OK with that.

I call these my “No mo’ drama blushes” because they’re consistently high in pigment, easy to control (I can sheer them out or build them up, no problem), smooth and last up to 10 hours on my combo dry/oily cheeks. Quite a few of the shades are just plain naturally beautiful, like Damselfly…

I wanna put Damselfly on right now.

Wait — sorry. We were talking about the new shades, weren’t we? Silly me and my easily distracted crazy cat lady mind. 🙂

Regarding the three new shades here, BECCA didn’t disappoint. They’re perfect for vibrantly flushed yet still natural-looking cheeks (think: day spent sunning and surfing at the beach).

Hyacinth, Lantana and Nightingale are smooth, long-lasting and hella bright…and perhaps maybe even a little intimidating, am I right? I can definitely see myself wanting to check myself before I wreck myself with these blushes, lest I end up looking like the babysitter who showed up at the front door wearing a crazy-@ss muumuu and too much rouge…

But please — PLEASE don’t let their intensity deter you. Give ’em a try anyway. If they make your heart leap (which they do for me), all you may have to do is slightly adjust your application method. If, when you load your blush brush, you just barely dip it into the pan and then lightly swipe the brush against a paper towel to remove most of the product, you’ll be grand. Then buff and build as needed.

Most skin tones should be able to play well with these shades, with the possible exception of the lightest lasses (although they’re worth a try). As for my darker-skinned damsels, babes! — you’re going to look incredible in any of these new shades.

And ya know what? That’s another thing I love about BECCA. They make products for a wide range of skin tones.

Big ups to brands that pay attention to all the colors of the rainbow. 🙂

Initially, I wanted Lantana bc I go cray cray for orange blushes. But that bright, nearly hot pink Hyacinth is going to be mine (insert evil cat lady grin here)!!! Big ups, indeed, for creating a color scheme that caters to us darker divas. But, then again, this brand has no probs in the diversity department. I’ve only been to Sephora twice this week. I didn’t see these there but all that means is that I gotta go back…tehehehehe =)

On second thought, who am I fooling, Karen? I NEED Lantana & Hyacinth. After drooling over your swatches (again), I’ve determined that a gurl has a right to change her mind =)

      Hey homegirl!

I had a feeling you’d love these. 🙂 And I think they’ll look AMAZE-BALLS on you. Did your Wayne Goss brushes come with a blush brush? You’re gonna put that bad boy to good use when you see these…

So, it’s hot again here in Nor Cal. I’m in my office sweating bullets. Soon it’ll be hot enough to have a full-on revelation…

Full-on revelation…BOL! That’s some crazy weather. And I thought the weather in my neck of the woods was cray. And, yes, my WG brushes came with a blush brush. Seriously, those brushes are amazing. I’ll never need anymore brushes for the rest of my life *said no woman ever*

      Hi Rachel!

I love how pigmented they are too! Plus they sit on the skin beautifully. 🙂

By the way, I’ve been meaning to tell you that parsley is *really* easy to grow. Put a plant in a sunny spot and you’ll have tons of parsley for Padfoot.

Hope you had a nice day and that it wasn’t too hot in your neck of the woods. It hit the mid-80s in Novato, and my office is starting to turn into a sauna. lol

The blushes all look beautiful with your skintone.

Thanks for the tip about the parsley. I’ll have to see about getting some seeds.

It’s actually been cooler this week, thank goodness. In the upper 70’s to low 80’s. It’s going to be a hot weekend, though.

I’ve been reading that flushed cheeks are on trend for this fall; these blushes fit the bill! Even though I’m fair-skinned, I think I could rock each of the shades, depending on my eye makeup & outfit.

The first sneak peek of these and I was squealing with delight. I’ve hoped Becca would break out of the play-it-safe shell with some brighter brushes and these are to die for! Lantana and Hyacinth are at the top of my list. And *YES* to the shade range from Becca!! My olive tones have somehow changed and are less yellow lately which makes foundation matching even less possible than it used to be. But Becca Nude and Becca Olive are my girls!

I think with a light hand and the right brush these could work for lighter skin tones. Hyacinth reminds me a lot of the Berry Cheek Pop.

Initially I was drawn to Nightingale but after seeing you with them on I think Hyacinth is gorgeous! I have had a couple Becca blushes in and out of my basket for the better part of a year and just never get any but now I’m thinking I really should. I love the Beach Tint Shimmer Soufflés so much so I’m sure I’ll love these. Blush is my favourite.
Thank you so much for this review Karen!

Wow, these are insanely pigmented! They look so lovely on you, not too overpowering. I don’t think I could pull these off though, as I am extremely pale. Before your swatches, I was like “They look so pretty! Maybe I’ll get Nightingale..” and after I was like “Nope!” Too much pigment for my fair skin. 🙁
