Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Gold Star Gets Gold Stars for Elegant Glitter

Bobbi Brown Gold Star Sparkle Eye Shadow
Wearing Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadow in Gold Star ($28) from the new Brighten, Sparkle & Glow collection

Yes, Sparkle Eye Shadow in Gold Star, you get a gold star.

But not just any gold star…

We’re not talking about one of those little sticker stars you got for turning in that kick-@ss book report on Flowers in the Attic. No, we’re talking about a big, bold, glittery gold star, because this shadow’s all about glitter.

Camera shy glitter.

I couldn’t coax it out of its shell for these pics, but Bobbi Brown’s new limited edition $28 Sparkle Eye Shadow in Gold Star sparkles like a meteor shower in real life.

And it’s brightening, too.

Yup, brightening. It and a gang of other Sparkle Eyeshadows star in Bobbi’s new spring Brighten, Sparkle & Glow collection, which launched earlier this month (the collection with the funky mosaic-like pressed powders).

Gold Star is the only one that isn’t a re-promote in the release.

Part of me fears glittery eyeshadows…and yet given the choice between a glittery shadow and one with a matte finish, I’ll always choose the sparklier one.

I’m afraid of accidentally crossing that line between classy glitter, and walking into a gas station bathroom with bare feet, wearing short cut-offs three sizes too small for me and a trucker hat.

I like glitter, but I do not want to go there…

I want the kind of sparkle I can wear to the Met Ball or to a fancy after-party at the Cannes Film Festival, ya know? Elegant glitter. And I feel like fresh, elegant, refined Gold Star glitter gets me there.

Bobbi packs Gold Star and the other Sparkle Eyeshadows into a super sheer base, minimizing the amount of color they deposit while maximizing sparkle.

And the glitter itself comes in flecks from small to medium, so you don’t to medium sized pieces, which I think helps keep the look firmly on the classy side.

Freakin’ outstanding performance, especially when it’s layered on top of a primer. The glitter stays on my lids and doesn’t migrate under my eyes or over to my cheeks.

I see a small amount of creasing after 5-6 hours, but very little.

I think Bobbi might have a universally flattering shade on her hands with Gold Star, even if the glitter doesn’t show up well in pics.

Love it!

It’s a pretty one! I’m not really into glitter either, but for gold/antique gold I’ve made exceptions 🙂

Remember the era when she was always photographed with an open bag of Cheetos? I’m so glad the Federline years are over!

Pretty!! These always are so nice to look at but I don’t think I would actually buy one of them (but you never know, I guess. Those medium brown sparkly ones always tempt me!). I will say though that I agree with you–this is most definitely what I would call an elegant glitter!

That lip colour is outstanding! And Gold Star is very appealing as I love gold eyeshadows. For a nice dressy twist I like to use them on the lids with a little muted purple in the crease so I’m glad you paired Gold Star with a gorgeous purpley-mauve lip!

Wish I had your luck with these; on me, no matter how I apply the color, they *do* migrate below my eyes, darn it! Still, the colors are so pretty, I just wear ’em at night for a little bling… and act like I *meant* to have sparkly undereyes, LOL.
