The Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks for a Comfy, Pretty Pout

January 10th, 2017 by Karen 20 Comments

Two of eight new Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks, $17 each and available now

What are the odds of Connor Claire getting into mommy’s makeup someday and thinking that these Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks are, in fact, drawing implements like actual crayons?

I place the odds at about 96.543%, give or take, LOL! Mark my words, I’ll be Instagramming some crazy-@ss wall art.

Seriously, though, how cute are these? They’re basically your standard-issue Clinique Chubby Sticks for Lips — same mega moisturizing, non-sticky formula and sheer color — but in super special Crayola clothing.

The eight unflavored, unscented shades are $17 each (like the regular Clinique Chubby Sticks), which is, yeah, on the expensive side for a sheer balm, but I really like them. I can throw one on before going to HIIT class and not have to fret about color migrating beyond my lip lines when I rub my lips together, reducing the likelihood of me looking like a crazy person.

And I’ll take all the help I can get under that horrible overhead florescent gym lighting… I swear, if someone made a gym with really great lighting where you could look in the mirrors and not look like a serial killer, I would sign up for a lifetime membership.

Anywho…if you aren’t digging the whole Crayola packaging and just want a really good, inexpensive sheer balm, Neutrogena makes a great one for less than $10.

If, however, you DO love Crayola crayons as much as I do, the Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks are available now for a limited time.

Teach me your calming ways, oh wise one…

On the cover of the February issue of Real Simple: “A guide to creating a calm, organized, and happier life.”

Yes, please! Sign me up. 🙂

I haven’t read the article yet, but I’m gonna read it tonight before bed.

I mean, I’m pretty happy most of the time, but I could use a TON OF HELP in the calming and organizing departments.

If your life is currently calm and organized, please teach me your ways! I’m still doing lots of reminders on my phone (“Siri, remind me to take my vitamins every day at 7:30.” “Siri, remind me to reschedule jury duty tomorrow morning.”), and they help, but I need more!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

My daughter already got into my makeup and used a NYX jumbo eye pencil in black to draw all over the hardwood floors. It took some Bioderma to clean that up, regular cleaning stuff stood no chance.

I’m sure I’ll be using your Bioderma trick very soon, LOL!

Yes, especially when they’re with the Jumbo Crayons! ?

I think this is kind of cute. It fits into the current trend of adult coloring books. Have you seen those, Karen?

Ohhhh…. The minute I saw these alarm bells went off in my head – these would NOT be ideal to use around my toddler. She would legit make the honest mistake of putting them to paper and trying to draw alphabets, thinking they were actual crayons. Something similar has happened before with my Revlon matte balms, except it involved the carpet and I was not amused! (Granted, she was a lot smaller when that happened and I guess if I just told her not to use these now she would understand, but I do feel she would think it was unfair that mommy wasn’t sharing her crayons.)

That being said, these do look cute and would be a great addition to any collection. Also travel-friendly, which is the kind of makeup I’ve been gravitating towards these days.

LOL! I heard the same alarm bells! I know it’s only a matter of time before she goes to town on my makeup. How old is your daughter?

The time goes by fast, doesn’t it? Today Connor walked for the first time. Wasn’t it just yesterday when I was swaddling her in a blanket?

Wow! She’s started walking?! How old is she now?

She just turned 10 months. Yup, she can now stand for 5-10 seconds on her own, and she can take 3-4 steps. My baby is not so babyish any more. ?

Aww… That’s so precious! She looks adorable btw. Seeing her pics reminds me of when my munchkin was that little. Sometimes I wish I had taken a TON more pictures back then since the cute little toothless grin doesn’t last for long! At the time though, I used to feel so exhausted, taking pics wouldn’t cross my mind often. But seeing your little one’s helps me remember to cherish this time of my daughter’s life.

    These are super cute!

I’m not sure it’s realistic to expect life to be very calm and organized when there’s an infant or toddler in the family. At least not most infants or toddlers! From where I sit, it looks like you are accomplishing an enormous amount, and I wish you could give yourself more credit 🙂

I need help too, my house has exploded. It’s more needing the energy to clean it and organize it myself.

Oh wow, I wonder how long this collab with Crayola has been in the works? It’s adorable!
Do you have jury duty Karen? Peace be with you! I know things are going to be hectic with your little one, you are doing phenomenally! I guess my only suggestion would be to continue running, to help your mind decompress as well as to help keep your energy up and your endorphins flowing. I always find it helps, and it’s one of my resolutions to do more of this year. Take care! <3
Oh speaking of, my old gym before I moved had SHADED mirrors and semi-low lighting on the main floor, and low lighting in the studios. Definitely on purpose! Best gym ever, but they're only in the Midwest 🙁

      Hi Ashleigh!

I ended up rescheduling jury duty, woo hoo! The last time I did it I actually got picked for the jury. It was interesting and I learned a lot, but at this point in my life I really hope I don’t get picked because Connor would have to come with me to court. LOL

Anyway, your old gym sounds like the most amazing place EVER. The one that my class is in now has the harshest lighting. I wish I could do the class in sunglasses!

How’s the running going? Have you logged in any miles this week?

Adorable packaging!! And, um, I’m not even organized enough to ask Siri for reminders so you won’t be getting any good advice from me. HAHA!
