Get Glowing With 5 Products From Honest Beauty

Saying yes to all the things!

You’d think logic would dictate that a makeup look with a minimal base would equal minimal products on your face, but if you love beauty products as much I do, you know that’s not always the case.

It’s a little something I like to call “the project junkie’s curse” — when you willingly and happily slather on every lotion and potion in the pursuit of an allegedly minimal look.

The curse hit me hard this morning. I was getting ready to meet my friend Judy for coffee and only had 10 minutes before I had to get out door, and, so, of course, I applied all the skin care products. Then, I applied some more and then even more after that. I know you feel me! 😊

For glowing, healthy-looking skin, I used five hydrating products from cruelty-free brand Honest Beauty.

Oh, by the way, you might’ve noticed that some Honest Beauty products look a little different than they used to. The brand recently changed their packaging to make it more sustainable and recyclable, so if one of your favorites is on this list, and it looks different; that’s why!

1. Elevated Hydration Mist

Oh, is today spa day? Because whenever I spray this lavender-scented face mist, it certainly smells like I’m cocooned in a candlelit room with a soundtrack of gentle whale sounds. The ultra-fine spray showers skin with delicate droplets and, not one, but two types of hyaluronic acid level-up your mug’s moisture. Made for all skin types. J’adore! $17.99.

2. Everything Primer Glow + 2HA

Hyaluronic acid and fruit extracts moisturize thirsty skin! If you love a glowing fresh face, this primer is for you. I wear it on minimal makeup days along with mascara and brow pencil, because it smooths out pores and imparts a barely-there pearly sheen. Of course, you could layer it underneath your favorite tinted moisturizer or foundation for an extra-smooth canvas, too. $22.99.

3. Depuff +C Eye Cream

There’s all kinds of stuff in this lightweight eye cream, like vitamin C, hyaluronic acid — two kinds, sodium acetylated hyaluronate and sodium hyaluronate — and a host of botanicals, including sunflower seed oil, daisy extract, hieracium pilosella (commonly known as mouse-ear hawkweed) extract and shea butter. When I pat-pat-pat this cream on my eyes, I swear it feels like my skin is tightening up a little, and, dare I say, I look a teensy less tired. It could be wishful thinking, but I do love how my skin feels, so I keep using it. $23.99.

4. Calm & Porefect Serum

Made for all skin types, even the most sensitive skin (it has even the National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance), this serum moisturizers and exfoliates. I feel like a fancy lady when I hold the glass bottle, which, FYI, is recyclable. Just be sure to completely rinse out all of the product before chucking it in the recycling bin. $29.99.

5. Hydrogel Cream

Jojoba, squalane and hyaluronic acid nourish thirsty skin in this lightweight but moisturizing face cream. Its dewy finish is key to the whole fresh-faced aesthetic, which is why I love it. $19.99.

Karen

You are going to be all set for the winter dryness that will be here before we know it!! I have a tendency to use a lot of products, too. But, then I can never figure out what’s working and what isn’t! I’m trying to keep it simple this summer since I haven’t needed much moisture.

How is Connor liking Kindergarten so far? My coworker just had her grandson in the office with her (he’s 4 and adorable). These are great years. I know you’re enjoying!! 🙂

      Hi Kim,

It’s been unusually cool here lately (not that I’m complaining), and believe it or not, I’m wearing a sweatshirt as I type this. I know!

Thank you for asking about Connor. She’s LOVING her class! Everything is so new and exciting for her right now. Yesterday, they had P.E. for the first time, and she was shocked at how fun it was. I hope this phase doesn’t pass too quickly, because it seems like around seven or eight they start getting sassy.

How are your boys doing? And how are you holding up?

I’m so happy to hear that! The boys were very good until the middle of 8th grade, so I hope you have lots of time with Connor loving school. It’s usually the hormones that ruin everything (temporarily). 🙂 I hope Connor being excited is helping you a bit. I saw you’re volunteering for ice cream Fridays. You know how I love to give advice, so here goes. I used to take days off work to go to every class trip or volunteer at school functions. I am so glad I did. You will never regret being as involved as you can with everything your child does. <3

We might be in the low 70s tomorrow but it's been unseasonably near 90 and humid for the last couple of weeks. We're not used to this!

They're doing well! My coop flyer's classes started this week and, so far so good. He likes everything and is making me laugh with his MANY complaints about his roommate. HAHA! It's good life experience. He'll be home tomorrow night for a charity golf tournament and I'm thrilled to see him. For probably 10 minutes before he runs off with his friends. 🙂 We text and talk multiple times per day, but it's not the same. My homebody starts classes next week and I'm pretty confident he'll do well. He gets his nose rebroken tomorrow (baseball accident a month ago) so I'm hoping that will go well. 🙂

You know I love getting mom advice from you, so THANK YOU! I’m thinking about volunteering in her class in the morning, and if there’s any spots left, I’ll go for it.

I hope that it cools down soon ’round your way. You would probably love the weather here right now since it feels like spring but without the allergies. I’ll put on a sweater in your honor, ha ha!

Glad to hear your boys (AWWW!) are both doing well. Are you holding up OK? Keep your chin up, mama!

Definitely volunteer if you’re able. I think you’ll love it. It’s such a great experience and you get to know all the other kids. We’re still close with the boys’ elementary school friends and hope we’ll always be. 🙂

Your weather sounds divine, and thank you for the sweater shout-out. I’m looking forward to wearing one here. I know it won’t be long. Then I’ll be whining to you that I’m cold. Goldilocks!!

Thank you! I’m doing well. Looking forward to seeing my sweet boy tonight and snuggling him up. My other sweet boy has been very patient with getting the occasional cuddle. I’ve been sure to make it VERY occasional. HAHA!

Minimal makeup verymuch equals all the skincare for me as well, especially when it comes to layering the hydration.
