Hiya

December 22nd, 2007 by Karen 17 Comments

Hey ya’ll,

Been busy running around doing last-minute Christmas shopping for the past two days. I still have to wrap and write out cards and prep some food … oy, there’s so much to get done. Someone pour me an egg nog!

Just wanted to say HI and to let you know I’m still here and that all is well.

Will be back in full force when all these presents get wrapped. 🙂

Anyhoo, I hope your weekend is going well so far and that you’re feeling the holiday spirit. What’ve you been up to today?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

    Hi Karen!

I’ve finished my Christmas shopping online a week or two ago. I took advantage of the “Christmas shopping online” since I’m in Hawaii visiting my mom (home is Las Vegas) for the holidays. I WANT to head out to the local malls here, but the thought of long lines make me cringe. *sigh*

We’re having a Christmas party tomorrow.. lol, it’s that time of year we dust off the trusty karaoke machine to hear our aunts belting out Filipino songs. Lovesss it! I’m off to prep food, hope you have a fun time wrapping those gifts!!

Way to get it all done!

Today was about taking care of all the last minute business! I had to go to the post office to send off Christmas cards today… I don’t recommend it! But although the lines were long, I have to say that everyone seemed pretty cheery, so it wasn’t too bad to be there! Then I had to wrap presents and bake brownies for the neighbors! Whee! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

Gearing up for the after-Christmas sales yet? 😉

Happy Wrapping, Karen! That is always my most-stressful part of Christmas gift-giving… trying to handle the tape, paper, measuring, ahhh… my type A side of me goes into high gear.

We spent the day at the in-laws celebrating Christmas together. My daughter got seriously over-loaded with toys… it was fun to watch her discover some new toys and fun to watch her tear into the buffet-style desert table. She was sugar-crazed in a big way. Fun times! I got Marc Jacobs Daisy which I love and it came with a cute gold train case.

Karen, hope you’re having fun wrapping the gifts =) I agree, it is the stressful part of Xmas. Hehehe.. I haven’t got myself any gifts for Xmas. I don’t know what I want. I guess I’ll be getting them later, getting stuff from MAC N Collection, gonna stock up on them neutral paint pots =) 2 more days until Xmas for me =D

    Hi Jenny,

My inlaws and their family *love* Vegas…in fact, we’ll probably be meeting them there in February for a short trip.

I’m so jealous that you are in Hawaii right now. My hub and I wanted to go to Oahu to visit his parents for Christmas but we waited till the last minute and the tickets now are soooo expensive. We miss them and most of all I miss WARM WATER! Be sure to go to the beach and drink a margarita so I can live vicariously through you.

Have fun at the party tomorrow! Are you going to sing? 🙂

    Hi Glosslizard!

BROWNIES! You said the magic word! Do you make em with nuts or without?

I think I’m more psyched about online sales more than anything else. I’ve been practically living at the mall for the past few days, so I dunno if I’ll recover in time to take the CLAWS OUT for the post-Christmas frenzy. 😉

And you totally get props for braving the post office today!

    Hi Tuprnut,

Daisy is really lovely – I love how light and fresh it smells. Plus the bottle is totally cute 🙂

It sounds like your day was filled with family and fun. Christmas is always *that* much more fun when you see the sheer joy it brings to kids. Did you take a lot of pictures?

And I totally hear you about gift wrapping and being type A! I used to work in the gift wrap department, which is where I cut my gift wrapping teeth, LOL. The gifts are slowly taking over the living room … they may overtake the makeup within the next day.

    Hey Sandy,

All the gifts are wrapped, woo hoo! I admire you for your self-restraint. I didn’t have so much luck yesterday – I got myself a Christmas present yesterday, oops!

Which paint pots are you going to get? Do you have Indianwood yet? It rules! 🙂

Yay, gifts are all wrapped 🙂 Haha.. I do have things I want to get. But I’m too busy to even go out & get them. Got to help out with family.

I got painterly, fresco rose & greenstroke paint pots 🙂 I’ve been using painterly for eyeshadow base. I got so many MAC products laying around, I’m thinking to give them away for free for example the New Vegas MSF from McQueen!

    Hi Karen!

I make brownies without nuts (although I love ’em myself), my recipe is Triple Chocolate Fudge Brownies and it’s the best one I’ve ever found! Use European-style butter and Guittard chocolate and they’re little chunks of fudgy nirvana!

Here’s a link for those who wanna try some!

Online sales are a great option! I just know I’m gonna be in Union Square by the 28th though! I’m hoping to get a great post-season deal on a Tokidoki bag! 🙂

Sounds like everyone is having a great time – even with the madness of last minute gifts and food prep for parties. I’m going to do a quick trip to Stonestown and then spend the rest of today baking – woo hoo! I think I’m going to make chewy Molasses-Spice cookies and white chocolate cupcakes with green and red frosting with sprinkles! Can’t wait!

Hope all is well with you, Karen, and everyone who reads this blog.

    ‘Tis the season to celebrate!

    Much love, Lilan 😀

    Hi Sandy,

I am jonsing Greenstroke pretty hard. I think I want that next if I get a Nordie’s gift certificate! What do you pair with Fresco Rose?

Glosslizard, I hope you snag a bag! I swear that you’ll make friends left and right when you sport it.

And *drrrooool*! With all this talk about brownies and baking I’m gonna have to start running distance again to work it all off, sigh.

    Nilla,

I love baking, too. Especially cakes from scratch…reminds me of chem lab.

I hope everything turned out well! It all sounds yummy. Just reading what you and Glosslizard cooked up makes my mouth water (I have the worst sweet tooth, ever)!

    Happy holidays 🙂
