I’m Dreaming of a Rouge Springtime with Chanel Rouge Coco in Peregrina

December 21st, 2010 by Karen 32 Comments

Chanel Peregrina Rouge Coco on karen of makeup and beauty blog

I’m supposed to be battening down the hatches right now to brace us for a big storm, but I’d rather play with the new Chanel Rouge Coco in Peregrina ($30) and daydream about sunny skies (let’s hope I don’t regret that later tonight…).

Chanel Peregrina Rouge Coco

Forget dark clouds. I see myself wearing this warm and creamy peachy pink on a leisurely stroll through Golden Gate Park in the springtime. I’m wearing a shimmery bronze and khaki eye look, a peachy golden cheek and sheer, creamy peach nails (ya know, to match). At one point, just to complete the fantasy, Ryan Reynolds and I stop at a park bench to discuss the finer points of mens grooming. Oh, and I’m also about six inches taller. 🙂

Like winter, Peregrina isn’t permanent. It’s limited edition from the spring 2011 Les Perles de Chanel Collection. Le sigh… All good things must end.

PRICE: $30

Mind you, it’s not just for cats. Apparently, dogs and birds like it, too. LOL!

That is a beautiful colour. Its such an everyday shade that it almost makes it worth the while to pay for it 🙂

Yay! One great thing about this color is how wearable it is. You could easily throw it in your purse and use it as an everyday color.

I’m loving the Chanel spring 2011 collection more and more each day. 😀 This is such a pretty, every-day-wearable shade!

      Hi Steph,

Me too. They’ve been doing lots of wearable stuff lately and even though it’s pricey it’s such a treat!

Ya know, I still can’t get over the fact that you and I connected through Quincy and Toni. What a trip!

Well, Chanel makeup, just like their clothes & handbags, should be considered “investment pieces.” At least that’s how I justify it! 😀

I KNOW! What a small world, huh. I swear though, I wasn’t too surprised because Quincy knows every single Filipino in the US – or at least it seems like he does. He’s quite the social butterfly. He used to manage that Filipino boy band “Koi.” Heard of them?

Good luck with the storm, Karen. The rain just started up here, and it’s not too bad yet, but they’re using words like “thunder” and “wind” to describe the overnight forecast. Missy will not be amused!

I hope Missy made it through the night okay!

Tabs managed to stay out of trouble (it’s a Christmas miracle). Well, this morning I did catch him drinking water out of the Christmas tree holder thingy. This behavior adds to the mounting evidence that he was involved in last week’s Christmas Tree Incident!

No midnight freakouts, thank goodness. She did, however, find time overnight to move some holiday decorations to different parts of the living room. Nothing breakable, though. If I haven’t mentioned it before, this cat has some very strange habits! Keeps life interesting….

It has, I am a Chanel obsessive though! I just got the Soliel highlighter for the holiday party season and it’s lovely! I also can’t stop buying the Rouge Coco’s they are the best lipsticks I have ever worn, moisturising but with good wear time (I love the moisturisation of the Allures but they don’t tend to last as long).

Peter Phillips is a genius! I think I have loved evry collection since he became head of cosmetics at Chanel.

Very nice! I like the shape of the tip. And the fact that Chanel is stamped in there. I’m such a sucker for small, meaningless detail!

I have visions of that poor cat grass planter being dragged across the floor all night. Wait, that would be “poor me” having to clean it all up in the morning! 🙂

The Rouge Cocos are full of fun touches like that. If you look inside the cap, there’s also a hidden double C logo!

So far we haven’t had any trouble with Tabs knocking over his kitty grass/catnip planters. The Christmas tree is another story though. 😀

we don’t have safeway here – really just kroger and publix. I just did 4 cheese ravioli.

the lip conditioners are actually like the stick ones, and I like them better than the MAC ones! lemme see if I can find them…

What a pretty color! It makes me think of spring – which I wish would get here soon!

I was considering getting my kitty something like that Chia kitty grass. He meows at the door every evening to go out, so I’m hoping this would distract him – at least for a little bit!

Now this is a gorgeous shade. It’s hard to see from the picture, but is this lipstick a little on the matte side? It’s a beautiful, soft color that would work well in the spring and summer but just as refreshing in the winter months as well. By the way, your eyes look wonderful and bright in this picture. What eye products are you wearing and if you don’t mind me asking, what highlighter did you use, particularly in the inner eye corners and the area immediately beneath? Whatever you used, it really illuminates your face giving you a very healthy glow.

      Hi Diane,

I’d say it’s more like a satin — not exactly high shine, but not throughly matte.

And thanks for the complement on the eyes! I’ve been extra tired lately and been having to do some extra stuff with concealer. On the inner corners I used Bobbi Brown Color Corrector in Peach beneath my usual MAC Pro Longwear. Beneath the Pro Longwear I’ve got a mix of MAC Strobe Cream on the cheeks and Smashbox Photo-Op Under Eye Brightener in the inner corner.

So basically the whole thing goes in this order:

      1. MAC Strobe Cream
      2. Smashbox Photo-Op
      3. Bobbi Brown Corrector (applied very sparingly)
      4. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

It’s kind of a longer process, but if I look tired and need to take pics the combo really works!

Let me know if you have any other questions! 🙂

That’s a gorgeous lipstick and I love your scarf and makeup. It’s a change to see you in more pastel shades (clothes & face); you wear them really well! I kind of have a love/hate thing with Chanel; unless it’s something really special, I try not to buy it because I honestly feel that they really jack up the price a bit much. I am a total lipstick fiend and support lots of high-end brands (lately, I’ve been really loving the YSL Rouge Pur Couture and Edward Bess) that I feel give the big payoff in terms of quality, pigment and duration of wear. But the Rouge Coco formula hasn’t wowed me…until I saw this one, lol. Dang, that’s a beautiful color!

Hello there, I read this blog all the time but rarely comment, so I wanted to say I think it is fab and Karen I love your writing style, you make me laugh. Also this lipstick looks good on you and can I add to the compliments about your scarf, very pretty.

I have never owned a Chanel lipstick but maybe it is time to start?

Also I don’t think Ryan Reynolds will mind if you are not 6 inches taller!

Karen, I love your blog! You make it seem like I’m right there ,hanging out with you & Tabs, having a makeup party.

A question That torments me (!): what about Sunscreen?
In What order do you apply it? My Dermatologist says you need to use SPF 30 or higher,
which is way lower than what in found in most tinted moisturizers & foundations.

    Any advice?
    -Lisa
