Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner Lasts Through Tears of Joy

May 31st, 2008 by Karen 34 Comments

lancome-le-stylo

G’morning! It’s pre-coffee early here, but I wanted to pop in to say hi. My younger brother’s graduating from college today, and I’m heading home to the East Bay (about 30 miles from here) to watch him cross the stage in his cap and gown. I’m so proud! When it comes to seeing or talking about my brother’s accomplishments, I turn to mush; a few years ago I watched him and his band perform on stage (he plays guitar) at a punk club and broke into tears of joy amid a sea of moshing mohawks and tattoos.

My little brother’s worked hard to reach today, and I’m so very proud of him. The odds that I’ll burst into tears during the ceremoney are high, so I’m wearing my new favorite waterproof eyeliner, Lancome’s Le Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner ($23) in Noir, a deep, rich black.

Le Stylo Waterproof reminds me a lot of my beloved MAC Technakohl liner. Like Technakohl, it has a twist-up tip and a creamy formula that glides on without tugging or pulling. Le Stylo outlasts Technakohl, though, when applied to the waterline, which is why I’m using it today. It also sports a sponge smudger on one end — handy for diffusing harsh edges and lines.

Le Style Waterproof comes in seven shades — Bronze (bronze), Cafe (brown), Minuit (blue), Prune (purple), Fumee (grey), Noir (black), and Green Buzz (dark green). I can’t wait to grab a couple more!

Check out Le Stylo Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner at your favorite Lancome counter or find them online.

Anyhoo, I’m out the door! I’ll be back this afternoon (hopefully with pictures).

Have a fantastic Saturday, and, for anyone else graduating today, congratulations! Rock on!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’m with Glosslizard, I love hearing about good waterproof makeup!

Congrats to your brother! My friend graduated from West Point this morning. It was a great ceremony except the crappy weather. Which sucks, the last few years have been gorgeous. Hope you have better weather on the other coast!

By the way I recently tried Tartes “Lights, Camera, Splashes” their waterproof mascara. I didn’t like it very much compared to Lights, Camera, Lashes. It made my lashes stick together, but they did look longer.haha And that stuff didn’t come off for anything which kind of annoyed me.haha Just can’t win! 😛

Congrats to your brother! I hope you didn’t get too tear-eyed and that the eyeliner held-up! I needed this a few weeks ago at a funeral… I was a mess by the end of it and wish I had something waterproof on. Not good planning on my part.

So, does this glide as well or better than MAC? I love that it has the smudge-tip. I switched from MAC to an Estee Lauder eyeliner, just for the smudge-tip.

Anyway, hope you had a great day!

Big congrats to your brother Karen !! You must be soo proud. My graduation is in December, leaves me plenty of time to work out my graduation look.

I’m after the Lancome liner in Bronze…which they would make the liner longer and forget the smudger….I never ever use it.

Hope you all had a great time at the graduation !

I just wanted to thank you – I went out and got Prescriptives Grotto Liner (beautiful)and Chanel’s Leopard lipstick (extremely beautiful)from your suggestions. I also bought Chanel’s limited edition eye quad Oasis – OMG I love this. My summer look is all together now. Thanks again!

I can t wait to try this out, given how I turn very emotional during a few special days every month 😉 Needed a good waterproof one with great colour intensity. Currently using MAC technakol but I always welcome a fresh change. Will check this out Karen. Enjoy your day with your brother and congrats on his graduation!

Congrats! It’s good that you think of waterproof. I rarely use eyeliners anymore due to my deep set eyes. Lots of dark eyeshadows help though 😉 Btw, you should try the Torquoise eyeliner from Wet n Wild (no, I’m not on drugs!). It really rocks for 99 cents and the texture is close to MAC eye kolh.

    Hi Glosslizard,

Le Stylo held up like a champ! I teared up several times throughout the ceremony, too. I wore it with the Chanel Winter Nights Quad. 🙂

It was so great to see him walk across the stage! I’m so proud of him.

How has your Saturday been? Do anything fun?

    Hi Bridget,

It’s hard to find a good kohl, especially. I really like these a lot. I still have my makeup on from the morning and it’s still on my upper waterline.

Congrats to your friend! That’s fantastic. My brother’s ceremony was outside and it was so frickin’ cold. I was wearing a skirt and sandals, too, so I pretty much froze for three hours. I was too happy, though, for it to really bother me.

I’ve heard that the waterproof version isn’t as good as the original Lights, Camera, Lashes (which is amazing!). What did you use to take it off? Was it a bi-phase remover?

    Hi Tuprnut,

I’m very sorry for your loss. I hope that you are holding up okay…

Regarding the liner, I think it glides better than MAC Technakohl. The color is also a richer shade of black. When I got home the first thing I did was take a nap, and when I woke up I checked in the mirror and saw that I still had some on my upper lash line!

I had a great Saturday, thanks! I’m still sleepy from all the post-graduation food we ate!

    Hi Monica,

What a wonderful note! I am so happy to hear when stuff works out for others, too. You have so many summer look options with all of these colors. Oasis is pretty, yah? When you get a chance try applying the shadows with a wet brush. It bumps up the intensity, and it is especially pretty with the coral shade. 🙂

    Hi Natasha,

I hear ya, girl. On my special days I’m all about the waterproof mascara and the chocolate ice cream. 😉

I’ve been such a fan of the MAC Technakohls for months, so I kinda feel like I’m cheating with this eyeliner, but it’s really fab. I hope you like it!

Have a great rest of your weekend!

    Hi Dao,

Thanks, girl! LOL, you cracked me up. I actually like a few things from Wet & Wild. Do you have the 666 (I know) Lip Liner? It looks great with Clinique Black Honey lipsticks.
I will now have to search for that liner, cause you can’t beat 99 cents.

I agree! I loved it, too! I really had a lot of fun… the vibe from the crowd was amazing. I did get a lil’ sleepy, though, at 2:00. 🙂 I’m not the night owl I used to be.
