LORAC’s New Lipgloss Combines the Benefits of a Lipstick and Gloss: LORAC Lips With Benefits

How’s about a creamy hybrid lipstick/gloss with the texture of a $27 Dior Crème de Gloss and a price like a MAC Cremesheen Glass ($18.50)?

And then, what if we take 50 cents off the price and make it an even $18?

Tada! Say hello to LORAC’s new Lips With Benefits, a line of shiny, non-sticky lipglosses that feel like heaven on my lips. They combine the medium-coverage lipstick look of a Dior Crème De Gloss with the feel of a non-stick gloss, all wrapped up in zebra stripes (so cute!).

LORAC even infused them with antioxidants, namely açaí berry, pomegranate extract, and vitamins C and E, and added a strong brown sugar scent that I like. Officially, it’s described as a sweet crème brûlée. Not too sweet or artificial, the scent lingers on my lips for a good 20 minutes.

So far I’ve played with two of the colors from the line, fresh pink Josh and rosy brown Chuck, and this is kinda weird: earlier tonight I saw that Sephora.com only lists four colors total — Josh, Nick (a light pink shimmer), Alex (a berry) and Mark (a neutral peach). Chuck is not one of them.

Hmm… I’m not sure why, but I’m hoping that Chuck makes an appearance soon because I think he’s a fabulous “your lips but better” shade.

Both Josh and Chuck last about 5 hours on me, which is pretty respectable wear time for a non-sticky gloss.

I was hoping that these would be a little more moisturizing, however, since LORAC bills them as hydrating, but at the end of the day, my lips disagree. They do feel slightly drying to me.

PRICE: $18 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Sephora stores and also online

Chuck is cute on you, and I think it’ll work on me too 🙂

Marina from Makeup4All is trying to figure out if there’s a way of getting LORAC products in Europe, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there is (or soon will be)!

I love seeing LORAC products but since they are not available in India its a pain to get them from anyone who comes from the States. I loved Chuck as its a color that not only matches my taste for lipglosses but also is universally flattering. And you look pretty too!!

I love both of those colors on you! I am so tempted… hm… I’m surprised that they were drying, because I just reviewed the Trendsetter liquid lipstick from Lorac and it was very moisturizing .. but I guess it varies 🙂

Girlfriend, I hear that. I still like the look of these, so I’m going to layer some balm beneath.

Watcha been up to today? The weather’s been really nice here, so I went for a hike.

Hi Karen, you look beautiful and so fresh and well rested. What did you use on your face, your complexion is glowing and there is almost no blush going on. Your eye makeup looks pretty too, what products did you use ?

I absolutely love LORAC products and for me, because I haven’t bought any glosses in a while, $18.00 is a bit expensive, but for the price you get pigment like a lipstick and shine like a lip gloss, the best of both worlds so this may just creep up on my wishlist soon!

      Hi Kelsey,

I like a lot of their products. I also met Carol Shaw (the creator of the line) last October and she was as sweet as can be!

Anywho, I hope you’re having a nice weekend so far. What’ve you been up to today?

BAHA I love the play on words–“Lips with Benefits” SMH And the kicker: naming each lipstick/gloss under a boy’s name, so it’s like you really do have a friend with benefit! lol I could see myself making my boyfriend jealous with these 😉

I believe some of the colors are Ulta exclusives, based one what I’ve read elsewhere. I’ll have to try to grab Chuck there.
