Golden Bronze on Board! MAC Nude On Board Pro Longwear Bronzer Sets Sail to the Land of Lazy Bronzing

May 23rd, 2013 by Karen 19 Comments

MAC Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzer
That’s MAC Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzer ($30) below my cheekbones…

While I’m willing to give up some things in the interest of streamlining — spare toothbrushes (do you really need more than one of them?), clothes that no longer fit me and that fourth half-empty jar of Tiger Balm — I refuse to relinquish any all-important necessities like shoes, handbags, earrings, jeans, lipsticks and, in the summer months, bronzer because, I mean, you just never know, right?

You just never know…

You just never know when a freak cold front will blow through town in the middle of August (well…), and you’ll want to warm up with MAC’s Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder.

It’s perfect for times when I need a little extra warmth and contouring — but less than full-on “tiara and feather boa” levels.

A golden tan powder, Nude on Board leaves my skin lightly toasted, and like MAC’s Refined Golden Bronzer (from the same Temperature Rising collection), its micro-fine flecks of golden glitter, much finer than grains of sand, give skin that extra something-something.

It’s a subtle effect, but I think that’s the beauty of it.

To apply, first find a fainting couch… Then, leisurely lower yourself down onto it, and languidly apply the satiny smooth powder just below your cheekbones.

It won’t take much muscle at all, as the application is darned-near effortless.

Yeah, it brings out yo’ lazy like that! 🙂

And it lasts. I can leave the house to run errands without having to touch it up before I get home.

If you’re around NC42 or lighter and like golden bronzers (versus redder ones like MAC Sun Dipped), take a gander at Nude on Board. I think it’s the Temperature Rising Bronzer you might want.

PRICE: $30

MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A

G’morning and happy Thursday!

I’m on a quest to satisfy my special deep pockets dental requirements for the next week (no sticky or crunchy foods, blah!).

It’s a little too warm for soup right now, so I’m thinking smoothies, perhaps of the spinach variety, and lots of pasta, fruit and steamed veggies. If I come up with anything interesting (translation: really easy and not totally gross), I’ll let you know.

I’m barely a day in, and I’m already craving popcorn, caramel and potato chips like crazy, le sigh.

Have a good day today, okay?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Ohh, you know that’s the bronzer I really want, right? Now I want it even more! I think it’d be great for my light skin….Speaking of Rising Temperature collection, guess what’s supposed to be delivered today? Yes, the Ripe Love blush! I am so excited!

      Hi Agata,

I think so too, especially if you wear golden tones well. I love the little bits of glitter because they add that extra something!

Yay, so glad to hear you got your hands on Ripe for Love. Where did you end up tracking it down?

        You’re such an enabler, Karen!

I got it online from Nordstrom. I was so excited because a few hours after it launched this color was already gone.

But that’s what friends are for, LOL! 😀

Wow, I’m not surprised that it sold out so quickly online. I’ve been wearing it practically non-stop for the last few weeks. It is a GREAT blush.

Is there anything else that you’re still lemming?

If you lived closer I think we would spend my every day off hanging out at Sephora, lol. None of my friends here is really into make up so I cannot talk about it for hours (but at least they always come to me for advice or when we are at Ulta they ask me all the questions like how come some concealers are gree, some yellow or even purple, lol. Or what’s a liquid eyeliner?)

Well, I want this bronzer and I really wanted the Underdressed lipglass but now it’s sold out too! :-/

I think so too! We could go get coffee and then window shop.

It’s the same way for me with my friends. Jen’s marginally interested in makeup, but it comes and goes. I asked Cindy last week if I could put gloss on her and she flat out refused. The only time I get to really chat about makeup is here and with random people I meet at Sephora, haha!

Wow, I had a feeling that many of the pieces in Temperature Rising would go fast. I wonder if there’s still stuff at the counter at the nearby Nordstrom…

Anywho, did you go for a walk today? I’m trying to get everything done before 6 so I can work out.

It’d be so much fun Karen 🙂

I didn’t manage to walk today or even hop on the treadmill. I was busy all day, non stop and then it was raining too. Today after work I am leaving for vacation so I have been frantically running around trying to get ready and I am still not even packed!

I love that you mentioned Tiger Balm. That stuff is genius! But I always hated having to get it on my hands, so now I use Walgreen’s generic version of the Icy Hot stick. It looks like deodorant, but is awesome for pain relief and so-on.

      Hi Trisha,

Have you tried Tiger Balm patches? They’re great too, and you don’t have to deal with a mess on your hands. Just peel and stick.

Be careful of bananas, Karen. I have had cavities from my deep pockets and my dentist busted me on my almost-daily bananas before I said anything. Apparently they can really stick to your teeth. Now I make sure I brush or at least chew some sugar-free gum if I’m eating one on the go.

      Hi Holly,

Thanks for letting me know! I’m an avid banana eater and had no idea that they stuck to the teeth like that.

How do you like your bananas? I have to have mine without any spots and slightly green. 🙂

Hey, I had no idea as well! I eat a banana every day. Thanks for telling us.

You can never have too many bronzers, right?! I think I’m gonna pop by the mall tomorrow and see if they have any of the ripe for love blushes left!
