Maybelline’s $7.49 Color Sensational The Buffs Lipsticks in Blushing Beige and Stormy Sahara Promote Acts of Pigmented Public Nudity

Wearing Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs in Stormy Sahara

When we met at the drugstore, they were full-on nude. None of that halfway bullsh*t.

Stormy Nude, the bolder of the two, was the first to start talking. “$7.49. For each. One layer. Full coverage. Satin finish.”

“How about wear time?” I asked.

“Three to four hours,” replied Stormy. “With a moisturizing formula.”

I considered the terms. The faint scent of vanilla and — plastic? — floated in the air.

“Is that…?” I started to ask.

“Vanilla, yes,” answered Stormy, guessing at my question. “Taste like it, too.”

I let the plasticky part go. The other terms were agreeable.

I took a step forward and put out my hand. Stormy grabbed it and we shook. Then, right there in the middle of the store, we all got totally and completely nude.

It was glorious. 🙂

Maybelline Color Sensational The Buffs Lipstick

  • $7.49 each, available in 10 shades — Bare All, Blushing Beige, Nude Lust, Maple Kiss, Truffle Tease, Sin-a-mon, Touchable Taupe, Stormy Sahara, Untainted Spice and Espresso Exposed
  • 10 flesh-toned shades for nude lip looks
  • The silky smooth texture is off the chain! These do not catch on my flakes, yay!
  • They’re highly pigmented, too — pigmented enough to cancel out the natural color of my normally pigmented lips
  • A great value. Highly recommended!

Karen

Hee hee, nice little story 🙂 You look great with a nude lip, Karen! Especially Stormy Sahara looks nice. And I know I can only see one sad little strap, but your top looks cute!

Stormy looks beautiful on you, very close to what I would imagine your natural lip colour to be! Beige seems to wash you out, doesn’t it? May I request for swatches of the other shades?

P.S. Tabs looks so cute in that gif 🙂

You look amazing. Has anyone else tried this product? I want to know which one would look best for a rich brown complexion like Kenya Moore’s skin tone. Thank you

Stormy is def your color, I think the lighter one does wash you out just a bit. It would probably look better on the center of your bottom lip, over the storm.

I’m really glad that Maybelline is making it possible for EVERYONE to get nude. YEA! 😉

@Pam, I’m almost Lupita Nyongyo’s shade, and I love untainted spice and expresso exposed, spice is the perfect nude.

I love Stormy, but I know what you mean about the plastic smell. I bought one of the glosses from The Nudes collection, and it smells awful, like plastic and other chemicals too. It actually prevents me from wearing it. If I had the receipt, I’d return it. But the shades are very pretty.

@Nikki A, thanks for the recommendations! I’m not quite as dark as Lupita but I should totally be able to pull off the shades you mentioned. That’s the only draw-back to drugstore makeup- you can’t try it on first. Looking forward to trying out your recommendations.

Looks great on you! I’ve been wearing a NYX Chunky Dunk in Peach Fuzzy as a nude everyday lip lately, love it.

I have Sinamon and Nude Embrace (LE) and they are perfect for cool medium skintones. No peach tones!

I like the coverage but that’s not the right set of shades for me 🙁
