Milani High Speed Fast Dry Nail Lacquer Turbocharges Drying Time With Eight Creamy Colors

March 6th, 2012 by Karen 36 Comments

Milani asks, would you rather wait an hour for your nails to dry, or just wait 60 seconds?

The drugstore brand’s new line of One Coat High Speed Fast Dry Nail Lacquers ($4.99 each) promises to save lacquer lovers time and money with eight rich, quick-drying colors and a creamy formula built to look beautiful after a single coat.

And that’s just I’m wearing in each of these swatches — one creamy coat.

Milani Fast Fuchsia

Milani Jiffy Orange

Milani Violet Dash

Milani Yellow Whiz

Milani Black Swift

I’m still testing these for durability and wear time, but based on these swatches, hello! Gotta love how much pigment Milani squeezed into some of these colors, like Jiffy Orange, Fast Fuchsia, Violet Dash, Hot Pink Frenzy, Rapid Cherry and Black Swift. Full coverage from a single coat.

I think Yellow Whiz and White On The Spot would probably benefit from a second coat. Those two might be the troublemakers in the group and seem to apply a little streaky…

Milani also gave these bottles a nice, wide brush that covers a large area of each nail, so it only takes a few swipes from nail base to tip. Another thing that helps speed up the painting process.

As for drying time, they’re quick. I’ll give ’em that. To be on the safe side, though, I’d suggest waiting 3-5 minutes for them to set. I checked to see how they were doing after 60 seconds, and all of them still felt a bit unsettled. I think they needed a tad more time.

Still pretty good. I can see these coming in handy for last-minute manis and pedis when I’m in a hurry to leave the house. Great colors and a quick formula; plus the price is totally right?

Nice job, Milani. 🙂

PRICE: $4.99 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at drugstores and also online

A battle of epic proportions

It really was! Are you watching The Voice? Last night’s battle rounds blew me away. That one between Anthony Evans and Jesse Campbell was epic. EPIC!

I was kinda hoping that Anthony would get the win, but wow. Even Alicia was impressed.

Karen

      Hi Mandy,

The polishes are also available online. If you go up to availability there’s a link that should take you directly to the Milani website.

Ooh I love no fuss quick dying polishes! And one coat sounds a-okay to me! In particular I’m liking the orange and the violet, might have to pick those up!

And, I’m sorry, this is probably my inner 8 year old boy coming out, but “Yellow whiz”?? Sounds yucky to me … 😛

Yeah, my brain’s not always the most mature…

Don’t feel bad, I totally thought the same thing when I read Yellow Whiz. Really, Milani?

These polishes do look awesome, though, so I can let the weird name choice slide.

ONE COAT? ONE COAT??? I haven’t seen a lot of nail polishes that are true one-coaters, but these do have that vibe in the swatch pictures. Impressive!

      Hi Sunny,

Yup, one coat! If you like your polishes extra shiny, you might need a top coat, though.

      Hi Diana,

That’s a fun shade. You’ll probably need a second coat, though, to get rid of any streaks.

i have been using the new revlon color stay polishes (they claim to have a gel finish). i gotta say they are pretty long lasting, probably the most long lasting drug store polish i’ve ever tried. the colors are also very fun and varied that there’s lots to choose from. highly recommend 🙂

And…can I just say that the face-off between Anthony and Jesse was just plain ridiculous (in a good way). OMG…..these two guys both deserved to stay on that show, imo. wonderful!

I wish they both could’ve stayed on! That duet was by far the most professional and entertaining out of the entire evening, IMHO.

What did you think of Christina’s crazy hat? I kinda liked it!
