Pacifica Took Me There with Tuscan Blood Orange

March 4th, 2011 by Karen 23 Comments

Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Take Me There Gift Set

El Hub and I are coming up on our five-year wedding anniversary (this July!), so I’ve been dropping a lot of hints around him lately about trips I’d love to take and things I’d like to do.

I keep setting these books where I know he’ll see them…

A romantic love trip to Italy would be a dream come true. I’ve been doing a little daydreaming planning on the side (just in case), but it’s hard to narrow things down when a place has so much to see and do.

One of the products I’ve been playing with lately is named after one of them: Tuscany. I’ve been extra enamored with the area this week. ABC Family shares some of the blame for airing Under the Tuscan Sun.

The rest of it goes to the sweet little Pacifica Take Me There set in Tuscan Blood Orange ($18). It comes with travel-size versions of Pacifica’s Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter and Body Wash, and a full-size version of their Roll-On Perfume. The scent is a spicy blend of orange (blood and mandarin), strawberry and raspberry notes — bubbly, sparkling and fresh. Every time I catch a whiff of it, I get a burst of energy, and my mood gets a boost. Oh, and like all of Pacifica products, these three are cruelty free. 🙂

My skin craves a lot of moisture, and both the Body Wash and Body Butter do a fabulous job satisfying its thirst.

And the Roll-On Perfume is a nice touch… I keep it in my purse and apply it throughout the day to my neck and wrists.

Citrus scents not really your thing? The Take Me There set is also available in three other yummy Pacifica scents: Indian Coconut, Hawaiian Ruby Guava and Tahitian Gardenia. If you’re in the mood for a pre-weekend/payday treat, you can find them at Sephora. 🙂

PRICE: $18 for a set with a 3-oz. tube of Body Butter, a 3-oz. bottle of Body Wash and a 0.33-oz. Roll-On perfume
AVAILABILITY: Available now exclusively at Sephora and sephora.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. We made it, boo! Weekend starts in three, two, one…

I may have to pick this up if I get down to your neck of the woods in the near future.

I loooove this scent! What a great deal for the three items… I have the solid perfume but don’t really care for solid perfumes (it leaves a sticky waxy spot on my skin) but I’m probably going to need to pick up this little set!

You must must must make Italy happen. Apart from the food, the sites (including the gorgeous men), you’d have a ball in the Limoni perfumerie shops. Fantastic cosmetics brands, such as Collistar and Pupa (US packaging has to bow down to Pupa).
Time to bat those pretty lashes a little harder, and off you go!

This is off-topic but when I was on holiday in Tuscany last month, my hosts made a sort of gelatinous dessert with blood-orange juice. It was fantastic! 😀 I kinda think it’s a bad idea putting such delicious aromas into shower gels – for instance, my favourite shower gel is The Body Shop’s Sweet Lemon and everytime I use it, I just want to eat it because it smells just like a lemon pie!

It’s a shame these products aren’t available in Canada, even through Sephora… I hope it will change! I bought the solid perfume last year while in vacation and love the scent.

If you do go to Italy, you should to to Siena, a beautiful city! Also, Cinque Terre on the coast is a mediterranean dream.

The scent description sounds so yummy – orange, strawberry, raspberry…it’s making me crave a smoothie now!

A holiday sounds perfect right now – I don’t know how the US’s faring, but it’s freaking wintery in the UK. I’m still in my winter coat in March.

Just drop heavier hints to El Hub, Karen! If needs be, whack him on the head with the guidebook 😛

ehm sorry to disappoint you, but oranges are definitely not typical products of Tuscany, but more of Sicily 😀
Nevertheless Tuscany is beautiful, let me know if you plan to come to Italy, I can provide you some tips and maybe avoid you some turists traps too 🙂
