Pencil in Time With Dolce & Gabbana’s Graphite Intense Khol Eye Crayon

May 15th, 2013 by Karen 17 Comments

Dolce & Gabbana Graphite Swatch
The new Dolce & Gabbana Graphite Intense Khol Eye Crayon, $30

“A storm’s brewin’…”

I always wanted to say that. 🙂 Storms are brewing within Dolce & Gabbana’s new $30 Graphite pencil — a rain cloud of a blackened gray liner for lash and water lines, and my new gunmetal gray liner love.

Dolce & Gabbana Graphite

There’s something almost meteorological about this deep, dark gunmetal… Micro flecks of shimmer dance along its surface like little lightning sparks.

It’s quite the Gothic scene, too, like a sweet lace dress with black leather cuffs and spikes — the perfect marriage of delicate and dangerous. Classic with an edge. Kittens with claws.

Dolce & Gabbana Graphite
Graphite on my water lines

Smooth like a long board riding a glassy wave, the soft pencil glides along the skin, leaving deep blackened chrome gray lines in its wake (smudge ’em for a smokey look) that last 4-5 hours on my lash lines, 5-6 on my water lines.

I’m partial to wearing it with golds, beige and brown shades, where it kicks those neutrals up a notch.

PRICE: $30
AVAILABILITY: Available now with the rest of the True Monica summer collection at Saks Fifth Avenue stores and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+ (pricey, babe)

Hump it!

I had tears streaming down my cheeks watching this video last night. I hope it helps get your hump day off to a great start. 🙂

LOL that video!!! It drives me insane when cats take 30 seconds to decide which side of the door they want to be on!

    Graphite is pretty! I don’t think I own a liner that’s gunmetal/gray!

I still haven’t used these sort of graphite liners regularly, but I should because I’m not always a huge fan of black, unless it’s winter.

Love the video! You must check out http://www.henrilechatnoir.com/ to see the great Henri, the French existential cat who is filled with angst and ennui. His video about his trip to the vet is priceless! I have no relationship with Henri other than being one of his biggest fans, but think you’ll love this cat!

Thanks, Karen! I REALLY needed that today… feeling a bit like Sisyphus myself in the office, pushing papers only to have to file them again…

OMG, what an AWESOME find that Sad Cad Diary is! I was dying… especially when he talked about “singing the song of his people”. (Our Ragdoll, Boomer, refers to *his* people all the time, lol…)

Love the graphite. (How do you think it compares to Urban Decay’s Uzi? I’ve had UD’s Uzi and Smoke in my online shopping cart for a couple days, now…)

Seriously Karen, thanks for the sad cat video! Great to have a laugh… and believe it or not, but it made me want a cat!! desperately! So far I’m just in the pug club… which is actually pretty fun. But he needs a feline buddy! Wish me luck in convincing my fiance (I’m going to show him this video, though it may not have the same effect it’s had on me)

So excited to hear about the 5-6 hour wear time. I’ve yet to find anything that lasts beyond 2 on my waterline. I’ll have to give these a try -fingers crossed-

Very nice! I have a Clinque pencil in black diamond that I wear when I want a little sparkle with my black. Graphite seems like it would be a little more subtle, though. 🙂
