The Pixi Endless Silky Eye Pen in No. 6 True Teal Must Have Been Made With a Magic Potion of Smoothness

May 28th, 2013 by Karen 20 Comments

Pixi True Teal

MischievousCould nixies, fairies and sprites be responsible for Pixi True Teal’s enchantingly smooth formula, which flitters across skin like butterfly wings?

Are nymphs gathered around a tiny table somewhere behind a magical dimension door in the back of a nondescript Chinese restaurant somewhere, plotting ways to lure more beauty lovers into falling in love with True Teal’s supernatural pigments?

RascalOr have I simply endured one too many conversations with El Hub about Dungeons & Dragons?

Either way, I’ve been looking for a new teal liner to wear this summer, and Pixi’s $15 Endless Silky Eye Pen in No. 6 True Teal is the frontrunner.

Just look at that color! And it’s so smooth and pigmented…

Pixi True Teal

It has some of the same fairy magic that Chanel Azure does in the way it appears to change color from teal to a dark ocean blue in the light.

More magic…

  • It’s waterproof, and therefore mermaid approved
  • Wasn’t tested on animals
  • It doesn’t contain any parabens or mineral oils
  • It’s one of 10 shades in Pixi’s Endless Silky Eye Pencil line
  • Dries in about a minute, so you better work quickly if you want to smudge

One swish along my lash lines, and I’m set for the day. The formula doesn’t even find its way into my creases, which I really appreciate. 🙂

Pixi True Teal

It performs fantastically on lash lines, but I don’t think it likes the water as much as Bobbi Brown Jet. I like the job Jet does better along my water lines.

True Teal along my lower lash lines; for a full breakdown of this look, check out Brighten Up: 3 Bold Summer Makeup Looks, Step-By-Step

And when I do take True Teal for a spin on my water lines, it’s kind of an involved process because I have to apply 2-4 layers, waiting for each one dry, and even still, the liner breaks up after a while.

For me, it’s probably the only thing holding this pencil back.

Best for: Magic and makeup lovers looking for a soft, smooth, summery, and intensely pigmented teal pencil liner to wear along their lash lines.

PRICE: $15
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target stores and also online

I’m guessing you mean NOT tested on animals LOL. Love the teal liner look though. So pretty!

I’ve heard good things about Pixi’s pencils, I really want to try the oyster shade! Too bad this teal ones requires so much layering. Feels like you’d go through it pretty fast that way.

Such a gorgeous shade but bummer about the waterline application issue. I tend to wear bright colors just on my waterline for a quick look and having to go over more than even twice is just too much for me.

I recently tried a couple of PIXI pencil liners and I really enjoy the lasting power! Too bad it doesn’t stay well on my waterline (nothing ever does), and it irritates a little too (everything does). On my lower lash line it can definitely hang in there for a whole day though!

This eyeliner looks lovely on you! I am definitely going to try it out. I have always been tempted to pick up Pixi because I like their packaging.

Lovin’ the teal… and I’ve got a little Target shopping list already started, so this gorgeous Pixi liner is *definitely* going on it! (As it happens, today I did a white-grey-dark taupe shadow look, with UD’s greyish-taupe Desperation 24/7 liner on my lower lashline, and Lancome’s oh-so-pretty Calligraphy gel liner in Dress-Up Teal on the *top*! 🙂 )

Sonia Kashuk brushes (I ended up snagging a Smoky Eye kit, with four interesting brushes, plus a single medium shadow brush), the Rimmel Scandaleyes liner you reviewed a couple days earlier (not nude, though, since I don’t line my waterlines; I went for Deep Blue, which is super-pretty), and Neutrogena’s new-ish Ultra-Gentle face cleanser. 🙂

I have this and LOVE it, I also have Sage Gold–a gorgeous green with gold shimmer. Now I need to get Deep Copper in my next visit to Target!

Hello Karen…Thanks for the review. I am definitely going to try the True Teal eye pencil – never tried anything from the Pixi Line before but I will pick that one up on my next Target visit.

P.S. I love the heart-shaped and white cat-eye shades! Where can I find those cool sunnies?!

Gorgeous! How did I miss that one in Target today?? Maybe I overlooked it because so many of the Pixi products had been opened and “tested.” Grrrrrr….I did pick up one of these pencils today in Copper Glow that I’ve had my eye on for awhile. Definitely wearing it tomorrow when I head BACK to Target in search of this amazing teal pencil!

That is such a gorgeous color. Are these similar to the MAC pearlglide liners. I LOVE those!
