Say Cheese! The Pur Love Your Selfie 2 Palette Is Camera Ready

The Pur Love Your Selfie 2 Palette ($42)

Aw, man! Why doesn’t the Pur Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 Palette come with a selfie stick? — a white one covered in silver glitter to match the packaging? That would be CUTE (if not altogether unnecessary), because if there’s anything I learned from watching all 12,543 cycles of America’s Next Top Model (it was a phase), it’s that when you’re taking a selfie, girl, get that camera up as high as possible, find your light source, and work those angles. #themoreyouknow

And should you need to whip out a quick makeup look, you’ll find almost errrthing you’d need in Pur Love Selfie 2 (which is the chapter 2 of the series of Pur palettes that started with the first Pur Love Your Selfie Palette).

It comes with eight eyeshadows, three face powders (a highlighter, a bronzer and a baking powder to set face makeup), a matte lip pencil, gloss and mascara.

Just add cattitude. 🙂

These autumnal colors, which are all brand new, make me feel like it’s early November, and I’m walking along a leaf-covered sidewalk in my ‘hood and stopping to take a quick pic.

In this scenario, I’m holding a Pumpkin Spice Latte, of course, because GIRL — I have no idea what to do with my hands when I take pics… Is that just me? It’s like my fingers morph into crazy long spaghetti noodles that I can’t control, and if I don’t have something to hold onto, they transform into scary E.T.-phone-home digits…

Anywho, the brick red, gold and olive green in this palette are perfect fall shades, and when I look at them, I can almost hear dried leaves crunching under my Timberland boots.

I love the autumnal vibe of this palette, but I feel like the powders — both the eyeshadows and the face products — could be a little smoother and easier to blend. The lip products also feel a touch drying (not terribly so, but still).

Overall, the rich, dark black mascara is my favorite thing in the palette ’cause it has that whoop-whoop curl hold action I like.

Love Your Selfie 2 is available now at Ulta for $42, and if you end up snagging it for yourself, Pur hopes that you’ll tag #PURSelfie on social and share a little something that you love about yourself, which is always a good thing to think about.

Let’s see… What do I love about myself? Well, I love that whenever I take a group selfie with friends, I’m usually the only person who has cat hair on her face… LOL! I also love my sense of humor (heck, at least it makes me laugh!) and my ability to befriend stray kitties. 🙂

How ’bout you?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I like what this has to offer, but the eyeshadows look small. The entire palette looks small. What’s the pigment like?

      Hi Mave,

The pigment’s pretty good, although I do wish some of the shadows blended more smoothly. I felt like they were a little choppy for me.

Can’t say I get selfies or why they’re so popular but this looks cute. Do you think the powders are typical for Pur because I like their formulas?

      Hi Sarah,

I’ve tried a couple of their powder products, and they’re OK!

Autumn colors are right up my alley but I’m the least photogenic person in the world so I’m not voting for the selfie-stick. HAHA!

I wish what I liked about myself was that I could shout out my positive qualities or graciously accept compliments. Sadly, I can’t do either. 😉

Karen you look gorgeous! It’s too bad these don’t blend better.

Karen, those shades are very autumnal and the reddish one is my fave at a first sight! I can see how curling is the mascara, that’s a great pro for a palette. basically a selfie-ready look with this palette…
Thank you so much, you make me laugh so much… your style is soooo unique 🙂
    xoxo
