Keep Your Eyes on Neutral Shimmer With Sonia Kashuk’s New “Eye on Neutral Shimmer” Eye Couture Palette

Should you ever wake from a moment of reverie with your eyes closed and a big grin on your face as you cradle the new $19.99 Eye Couture palette in Eye on Neutral Shimmer to your bosom in the Sonia Kashuk section of your favorite Target store, I completely understand.

You see, I too have a weakness for shimmery taupes, grays, golds and browns.

It’s easy to keep your eyes on a palette this sharp…

Sure, duochrome pink-to-purple shadow singles with rainbow glitter seem more exciting at first, but they’re like quick sugar fixes (the novelty wears off fast). Unlike Luna Bars and the Eye on Neutral Shimmer palette, they aren’t really designed for long-term sustenance.

That’s why I hold neutral palettes like this near and dear to my heart.

New for fall with 12 pans of powder shadow in shimmery neutral shades, these color temps are just right — neither too cool nor warm, and should flatter a wide range of skin tones from light to dark.

A closer look at the pans…

How does it compare to Sonia’s other new Eye Couture palette, Jewel of an Eye?

  • Fallout: I do notice a wee bit — not a lot — but be sure to tap off your brush before patting it on your lids.
  • Finish: Paws up for a mirror-like shine! I swear, these neutrals sure know how to shimmer — even more than Sonia’s jewel-toned shadows do, and several of the shadows come close to being frosts.
  • Wear time: Excellent! They last all day long on my lids with the help of a primer.

Yet another budget beauty bargain from Sonia. 🙂

PRICE: $19.99
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target stores and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B (the fallout does take something away from it)

Cat lady in the meowse!

Speaking of Targhay, I’m going there tonight, and I’m not leaving the store until I find this Xhiliartion Cat sweater in my size.

I want to go to there…

I know, I know. It breaks my rule of not shopping in the juniors section anymore…but it has tabby cats on it!

THREE OF THEM!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love the idea of this palette (and the price) but can’t do frosty, or fallout for that matter. Very disappointing. 🙁

I love palettes with warm gold, bronze and brown shades! My current favorite is MAC Bare Soul from the Temperature Rising collection!

Wow, I could use a good neutral palette (though I own a couple of neutrals). This one looks good and is much more affordable than UD Naked. I love neutrals and anything easy to put on but enhances my natural beauty 🙂

If I already have UD naked, will I end up with a lot of repeat colors if I were to purchase this palette?
