Stay Awhile, Boots No7 Cheek Tint (Pretty Please?)

July 28th, 2010 by Karen 44 Comments

Boots No7 makeup review

Snooki from MTV’s The Jersey Shore is probably the last person I want to be quoting, but girlfriend’s signature catchphrase perfectly describes my feelings for Boots No7 Cheek Tint in Peach Silk ($10).

“WAAAH!”

My heart gave itself over to Peach Silk from the very first swipe. One of three Boots cream blush colors, it had me at hello, but ’twas a love not meant to be (more on that in a sec). So easy to blend and effortless to apply, it’s a matte peach that I think makes me look like I’m actually blushing, and I’d hoped we’d have many great makeup adventures together.

But trouble started brewing a couple of hours into our first date…

Here’s a blush that disappears faster than an open jar of Nutella!

I get two hours of color from it, max, and that’s WITH a primer worn underneath it and powder on top. Whether sitting in a movie theater and stuffing my pie hole with popcorn or sitting on the couch watching back to back eps of The Shield, Peach Silk and I can’t stand being around each other for long.

Maybe it slips off quickly because it’s summer here and my cheeks have been oilier than usual. Ladies with drier skin than mine might find that it lasts longer for them (if you give it a try and love it, please let me know). I still adore the color, the price and how easy it is to apply, but too bad the product doesn’t linger longer on my skin. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B-

I wouldn’t mind trying this, bearing the price! Just for fun!

One good thing about Boots makeup is they are very very affordable and you can just try almost anything and if it doesn’t work, there is no heart pain to part with it, or find it a new home! 😀

I will most probably buy this because I want a cream color base of sorts – I only have one and I love it and want more in my life.

I shall be at Tarjey at lunchtime tomorrow (Friday) and I will def pick these up! 🙂

I’ve had some comment posting trubs, so I’m not sure if you’ve read this (10x), but I got my first Nars blush on Tuesday. Very exciting and I love it. I think I’ll be officially out of the blush market for a while. 🙂

YES! It was between that and Sin but once I saw them in real life, there was no contest. I actually look forward to putting it on in the AM! And it helped me to get over my disappointment (no Pacifica at Sephora Canada)! My next closest Sephora store is about 3 hours away, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do! 🙂

It’s a really good color (my go-to when I don’t want to think too hard). Now all you need is NARS Laguna Bronzer and you’re set!

Bummer that they don’t have Pacifica at your store though. 🙁

Snorted with laughter over Snooki-Tabs! OK, so bummer about these cream blushes, but have you tried the new NYC cream blush sticks for 4.99??? OMG, they are the BOMB! Best drugstore beauty find I’ve had in years; I got in South Street Seashell, which is gorgeous. Lasting power is pretty darn good, too. You gotta try these if you haven’t already.

I actually have to go to CVS today to pick up some Neutrogena Rainbath (got an out-of-the-blue hankering for it last night) so I’ll sniff around to see if there’s a color I like. I heard those are GREAT though!

maybe layer a complementing powder blush over it?

I got some of the NYX jumbo pencils a week or so ago and have the same problem with those right now (my lids tend to be oily, more so in summer) so I’m using them as bases.

They do the same thing on me if I don’t set them with powder. Do you layer a primer beneath them? I’ve been using Urban Decay Eden.

    Hi Karen 🙂

I put this one of my shopping list because the blush looks SO FANTASTIC on you. I like how it makes you look like you’re naturally blushing. After using it for about a week, I am so happy with the blush. Unlike your experience, I actually find the color on my makeup wipes!! It really lingers on my skin!! (Perhaps it’s because I apply the blush after I apply my powder??)

It’s been such a satisfying purchase that I just had to leave a comment saying THANK YOU!!
