Thanks to Marc Jacobs, Spring Smells Fresh As a Daisy in the Air

April 10th, 2010 by Karen 9 Comments

Oh, Marc, you tricky boy! The blue daisies perched atop each bottle of Daisy in the Air ($57 for 1.7 fl oz) led me to believe that a new version of your Daisy fragrance had arrived, but, alas, it’s the same delicate scent, only dressed in new limited edition attire (with matching blue paper garland!).

A floral eau de toilette, Daisy the fragrance smells more like a violet to me, and she’s been gracing our airwaves for years. Her free spirit takes me back to fun spring breaks and summer vacations, to days way before there were so many things to do or places to be…

The scent opens with a burst of violet and crisp grapefruit, but it meets jasmine a few hours later. When the scent winds down, I think it resembles a lovely blend of violet and musk.

As an eau de toilette and like youth itself, Daisy is fleeting and lasts only about six hours, tops.

My nose still loves light Daisy, and she looks primed for spring in her new blue wardrobe. 🙂 Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I have a little 4mL sample bottle of this and the bottle is OH so cute. The scent is not as long lasting on me, only lasting about 4 to 5 hours. Ironically for a Daisy it doesn’t have any daisies in the notes. I agree that it doesn’t smell like daisies. For me this scent goes from floral to fruity to musky and vanilla. It is nice but not one of my favourites.

I have a sample of Daisy… and I have a coupon to redeem full size (but I can choose among 10 perfumes so I can’t decide! One of them is Lola, which I love too!). I love love love Daisy… it’s one of the nicest scent ever.

But they always come out with new things, remember last time they had a black one? I bet I can get something similar and spray the Daisy on those paper. But it is a neat design, and the blue is really cute.

If you don’t already own any of the Daisy perfume, this one is pretty nice.

You see how I keep talking myself out? :p

My favorite perfume! I love Daisy. It’s actually the only perfume I have worn for the last 4 years! My boyfriend gets sad every time I speak of switching perfumes. lol. Apparently it has become my “official” scent lol

I love DAISY! I saw the blue version maybe a month ago and was very tempted to get it, but I still had a full bottle at home.
I love the scent. It’s so fresh and pretty!

I always stop and stare at the Daisy perfume bottle whenever I see it – its so beautiful. The scent though, when I had a tester made me sneeze to high heavens. Dangit – I always miss out on the nicest scents because of my allergies!!!

I love Daisy, too 🙂 It’s literally one of the only perfumes I can wear without getting a huge headache.

I love this scent so much but have yet to add it to my collection. Maybe this is a good time since it’s all done up with cute blue packaging 🙂

I have a sample bottle of Daisy, it smells a lot like summer to me! I’m no perfume expert but i somehow detect the scent of freshly-cut grass, my male friend loves the smell though.
