The New Burberry Beauty Holiday 2011 Lip Glow Glosses Lavish Lips in Luxury

December 9th, 2011 by Karen 24 Comments

burberry holiday 2011

As payback for dragging him to watch Breaking Dawn: Part I last month, an experience he describes as “beyond painful,” El Hub has asked me to accompany him to the annual holiday party at work. I’m down with that, but he also says that I can only bring a maximum of one extra pair of shoes.

Ouch.

Yeah… I might not be able to do that. 🙂 See, I’m fickle about my footwear, so whenever we go someplace, I always have to bring along one or two a few extra pairs of shoes, just in case I change my mind (which happens all the time).

It wouldn’t be an issue if I also remembered to bring the extra pairs back in the house, but I don’t, and so at any given time the inside of the car looks like a DSW Store. Passengers in the back seat risk being stabbed in a butt cheek by 4-inch stiletto heels. It’s actually a miracle El Hub has put up with it for so long.

If I do end up just bringing one extra pair of shoes to the party next week, I’ll have to find other ways to satisfy my compulsive need for options. These new holiday 2011 Burberry Beauty Lip Glow Glosses ($27 each) should do the trick.

I’ve been alternating between two of the three new shades this week, vibrant and creamy Bright Plum and shimmery golden beige Nude Gold. With flawless packaging that feels like it has some heft to it; a doe-foot applicator for precise application; a non-sticky, comfortable texture; a yummy violet flavor and scent (fades after about 10 minutes) and enough pigment and shine to last for days, these Lip Glows are everything a gloss should be for $27.

Not that a gloss should ever be $27.

For the party next week, I think I’ll start with the more dramatic Bright Plum, which normally lasts about five hours. Then, if the evening goes late, I’ll bust out Nude Gold, which lasts about three hours on my lips, for a late-night J.Lo look.

Or maybe I’ll start with Nude Gold…

Ah, I can’t decide. Either way, even though these are expensive, I think they have the goods to back it up.

PRICE: $27 each

Annie Chun’s Udon Bowls are this cat’s meow

Swear to gawd, I’ve eaten about six of Annie’s Udon Bowls since yesterday. I’ve been fighting a cold this week, and they’ve been the only thing I’ve wanted. Them and macarons…

They’re all natural, quick and easy to make (just add hot water), only have 240 calories and taste all salty and great! I’ve been getting them at Trader Joe’s for about $2.20 each.

Okay, I’m craving one right now…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’ve seen many a swatches on your lips, but this by far is your best color Karen. I know I can barely afford this gloss, but this is going on my credit card and my Sephora’s beauty insider gift card hasn’t even expired yet………..

It’s funny how you said that you’d bust out the Nude Gold for a JLo look.! I was just thinking that the photo of your lips w/ Nude Gold looks a lot like a shot of JLo (with the hoops and all)! Plus, I LOVE when you throw in some good food. Nice!

I just had the Miso Soup Bowl yesterday!

Those glosses, while nowhere near my price range these days, are gorgeous on you! I’m all about having options, too. That’s probably why my purse weighs a ton — so many lip products floating around in there!

This is not even a serious consideration, Karen – positively the Plum color! It looks phenomenal on you. Besides anybody can get a semi-transparent lipgloss like the gold one. If I’m ever tempted to buy a “nude” lipgloss…I always go back to my $3 Bonne Bell Lip Smackers gloss that smells over the moon and makes me irrationally happy. 🙂

Ooh, love the Plum color. Too bad they’re $28 dollars or I would be all over these.

May I ask what nail polish you used in the first picture? Even though they’re blurred, your nails are on point!

Omg! I’m so lucky not to have Burberry corners in the nearest department stores. I can save up 27×2 dollars (not to mention that european and american brands cost up to 30% more in Japan than in Europe and USA. But these colors are gorgeous! Do you use a lip pencil with plum gloss? Lips look so defined!

Those glosses are beyond gorgeous, especially Bright Plum. I had to laugh at El Hub’s movie comment. When my friend said she was dragging her boyfriend to see it, I said I thought that had been outlawed by the Geneva Convention. 🙂

Hahaha Karen, you are not the only one with emergency shoes stocked in her car. The boy just cannot understand it and I don’t really expect him to..

these look great! Have fun at the party (I would just start wearing the first pair of shoes about 2 hours before you leave for the party so that you can change them up at will without dragging them out to the car).

Annie Chunns are my backup when I don’t feel like cooking and I find they do amazingly at that job : )

I normally arrive in heels but switch into flats after an hour or so and the heels ALWAYS end up forgotten on the back seat.
