These MAC Semi Precious Mineralize Blushes Are 100% Great

July 12th, 2011 by Karen 37 Comments

MAC Semi Precious Mineralize Blushes from the left: Feeling Flush, Pressed Amber and Warmth of Coral

If you haven’t popped by a MAC counter to try the three new MAC Mineralize Blushes ($23) from the Semi Precious Collection, try to pencil in a trip if you can. I think they’re all kinds of awesome, especially if you like a natural-looking cheek flush and blushes that are easy to apply.

I’ve been reaching for Feeling Flush (a marbleized mix of pink, blue and brown), Pressed Amber (a mix of beige, nude and brown) and Warmth of Coral (a mix with a coral and a peach) regularly since last week. All three spread like warm butter on bread, applying smoothly on cheeks and giving them a gorgeous, just-pinched look with one or two layers.

But it’s the finish — oh, the finish! — that takes these from good to great. All three shades masquerade as mattes in their pans, but they actually deposit color with an almost imperceptible sheen that livens ’em up a little and gives them extra dimension.

I could easily wear one of these blushes every single day. 🙂

They even love the camera, showing up in photographs really well, which comes in handy when you work for a top kitty model and sometimes find yourself appearing in unplanned photos secretly snapped by the pet paparazzi. Just trust me on this one, okay?

PRICE: $23 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at MAC stores, counters and also online

These are beautiful. And even cooler, the varying shades and color choices all look good on you. When I first saw the colors I thought each one would only work for “some people” and not others. But you pull off all 3. I think I want to try these.

(though, cry for me, because there are no MAC counters in my town. Or even nearby.)

Arg, I almost bought both Warmth of Coral and Feeling Flush, but I was feeling particularly frugal that day and passed. They all look amazing on you. I knew I shouldn’t have looked at this post!

You’re so cute. 🙂 Well, the collection should be on shelves for a while, so you have some time.

psst….i think you have the color descriptions mixed up in the second paragraph 😉

i’ve been reaching for these daily since they came out too! love them. at first i was disappointed that they weren’t shimmery (i like to use my mineralize blushes as MSFs) but these are really lovely sheer washes of color!

Ahh, thank you! They’re fixed now. 🙂

I was surprised that these weren’t as sparkly as the Mineralize blushes I’ve worn in the past… they really are lovely, though, and so great for everyday looks!

Love Feeling Flushed and Warmth of Coral. I think Pressed Amber looked slightly too brown for me, perhaps I could it like a bronzer.

Are these blushes long-wearing? I go to school, so I need my blush to stay on for 8+ hours, do you think these would cut it?

I initially thought I could skip these blushes, but I keep hearing such good things about them. Sadly, they haven’t arrived at my MAC counter yet, but when they do, I’ll have to check out Pressed Amber and Warmth of Coral.

i passed on the blushes because — get this, they make my cheeks itch! before i could actually use them and not be uncomfortable, and i thought i was just allergic to the eyeshadows.

i have no idea whats in mineralized stuff that does this to me.

i bought one MSF mostly because i collect them and needed one to make my MSFs an even number (bit of an OCD there….) 🙂

      Which MSF did you get?

i got Pearl MSF. i swatched it on my arm and OMG its lovely! i wish i could use it!

the blush that made me itch was Pet Me from FabFelines last year. ive stayed away since then. :/

Oh no…these are so lovely but I am allergic to the mineralize eyeshadows so looks like I better pass on these too. 🙁 Thanks for the heads up.

Hey Karen! Would you say that Warmth of Coral is similar to Utterly Game from the Fabulous Felines collection? I missed it and have been looking for a good dupe ever since! tia 🙂 x

They all look very pretty on you. My biggest question is, will I ever be able to predict how something will look by seeing it in the pan? I can’t believe how horrible I am at this. Is it like the clothing rule where you need to try things on, even if you think they’re awful looking on the rack? Thank goodness you’re doing all the work here! 🙂

Feeling flush is gorgeous, the other two would make nice highlighters (on my skin tone).
