This Pretty Rose Is Hard to Find: Jemma Kidd Make Up School Hi-Shine Gloss in Rose

April 1st, 2011 by Karen 21 Comments

A couple of you gals have been asking about a lip color from some recent pics, so I figured it was high time we shined a spotlight on this little gem of a pink gloss by Jemma Kidd.

The $22 Hi-Shine Gloss in Rose is from JK’s higher end line, Jemma Kidd Make Up School, which isn’t carried at Target. SpaceNK stores carry the line, but Rose isn’t one of the shades they sell on their website. Dermstore carries it, though, and they have free shipping.

It’s awfully pricey for a gloss, but it might be worth it if you like warm golden pinks a la MAC Nymphette.

I love both of them, but I think Rose, being a touch pinker with less peach than Nymphette, is a more natural look.

Rose has a silky, thin, non-sticky texture and a faint orange flavor and scent. I find that it lasts about three hours on my lips, which is pretty darn good for a non-sticky gloss.

PRICE: $22
AVAILABILITY: At stores that carry Jemma Kidd Make Up School products and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A- (it’s quite expensive and hard to find)

Weekend, here we come!

LET’S DO THIS! I am so relieved that it’s Friday. This was a rough week for me. I was weirdly emotional, didn’t sleep well and then had writer’s block on top of everything else. Not awesome. But now it’s time to chillax…

Doing anything fun tonight? 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Looks a LOT like Revlon Super Lustrous in Pink Whisper/Afterglow… only more sheer, and expensive.

I’m totally into golden pinks, but the price is not attractive for what it is.

That is a gorgeous color! I think I would like it better than Nymphette which kinda disappears on my lips for some reason.

I’m not sure this would work for me because I’ve never liked the way Nymphette looked on me. I have a soft spot in my heart for it though because it was my first “high end” makeup purchase about 8 years ago. Ahhh, nostalgia.

I hope next week is better than this one has been. Tell your husband to take you and Tabs on vacation!

I’m counting down the hours until April 2nd xD I love the color, but for the price I think I would prefer Nymphette. I do like the golden/peachy tone of Nymphette anyways!

It’s a pretty color but I think my next gloss purchase will be Nymphette (in about 5 years when I run out of gloss). 🙂

looks purty but for $22, I’d rather put that towards a Chanel or Dior gloss :/
