Topshop Blush in Flush, You’ve Got the Right Stuff, Baby

August 9th, 2012 by Karen 29 Comments

I am a woman. A woman on a mission. Well, a woman on two missions.

The first is cat-related (of course). Tabs is furious — FURIOUS! — over the fact that Karl Lagerfeld’s cat, Choupette, has not one, but TWO personal maids.

I keep trying to tell Tabs that since both El Hub and I tend to all of his household cleaning and cooking needs, technically, it’s like we’re his “two maids,” but he’s not having that.

As you know, in the feline fashion world, one minute you’re in…and the next minute you’re staring at pics of a fluffy blue-eyed kitten hanging from a Chanel bag.

Appearances are everything.

So now he wants me to hire more “help.”

Aaaaaand these are the days of my life…

My second mission is more exciting. Why? Because it involves helping you discover one of the most universally flattering pink cream blushes I’ve come across this year.

Oh, and my favorite thing about it? It costs a lot less than two personal kitty maids! 🙂 Topshop’s $12 Blush in Flush is everything I like in a pink cream blush — natural-looking, long-lasting and universally flattering.

Like Earth, this peachy pink blush also inhabits the “Goldilocks Zone,” where the color temperature is juuust right, nicely between cool and warm, so it should look great on a wide range of skin tones, and it has the faintest whisker kiss of sheen. It’s easy to sheer out for a dainty flush or build up for a bright spotlight of color, making it an option for pale beauties and darker damsels.

And you know how some blushes slip away in the early afternoon or cling to every little flake (Ugh! — the dreaded patchwork cheeks)? Not a problem for Flush.

It has a knack for clinging to different skin types, so the color on my apples stays solid and true all day long. There aren’t many blushes out there able to handle the combination oily/dry skin on my cheeks, and fewer still as pretty as Flush.

But why stop there? It’s also easy to blend, flexible (works on bare skin, and on top of foundation and/or powder), and looks cute in its packaging, like something I would have doodled in the margins of my history notebook, right next to the lines of loopy script that read, “Mr. and Mrs. Jordan Knight” and “New Kids 4-ever.” 🙂

If you’ve been looking for a flattering pink blush with all the right stuff, you might want to get your fluffy kitten paws on Flush.

Omg Karen, what are you wearing on the lips? Is it from the Mac collection? I wish they sold topshop cosmetics here, the packaging is cute and I love their fun shades too!

It’s a really good color! You will love it. I always like to wear it with cat eyes…so fun, and a different twist on the regular red lip, you know?

What else is on your wish list?

Is it brighter than the nail polish? Because I was expecting a bright reddish pink coral and mine wasn’t that bright.

I’m trying not to buy too much makeup for the next months (I might go to Imats), but I want to check out MAC Style Seeker collection, UD Smoked palette, The Balm Hot Mama blush. I don’t need anything but everytime there’s something new, I just can’t control myself!

Me too. Everything Topshop does has the most ADORABLE packaging. It’s so simple, yet really super cute. 😀

The blush is really cute but I have a hard time getting past the lashes! Love them!

And, thanks for the “New Kids 4ever”. It made me chuckle. 🙂

This is super pretty….AND affordable!! I’ve read a surprising amount of good reviews for Topshop makeup. It must really be fantastic! I originally was skeptical because…well, its a clothing stores in-house makeup brand. But you can’t get that many good reviews unless you’re doing something right! Definitely need to check it out!

I loved Jordan Knight back in the day! I used to buy BOP and TigerBeat magazines just to get those fold out pictures of him for my walls. I wish I had a Topshop in my neck of the wood to pick up that blush – such a fresh, awake color.

Really pretty blush! It kind of reminds me of Nars Orgasm but with no glitter. You look amazing and I always love the different makeup looks you do! Like I need more makeup, haha, anytime a new collection comes out I always want SOMETHING.

I’m dying to try the Topshop makeup, the colors look so fabulous and cream. Tabs is at least as famous – and clearly much more down to earth – than Choupette:)

I have two topshop cream blushes and i’m quite fond of them. They absolutely do handle oily/dry skin combo skin well!
