The Urban Decay Vice Vintage Capsule Collection, and Happy #Caturday!

Party like it’s 1996!

SHEEEEYT, girl, back in 1996, you wouldn’t have been able to tear me away from my metallic lipsticks. My “going out” color was a purply shade similar to Asphyxia, one of the nine reissued shades in the upcoming Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Vintage Capsule Collection. I wore it with a dark purple lip liner which, of course, I left purposefully unblended. 🙂

I think I got the idea from a Missy Elliot video… Or maybe it was Mary J. Blidge?

Wherever it came from, I thought it rocked, LOL!

Lace up your Doc Martens AND your Timberland boots because UD is celebrating their 20-year anniversary by reissuing nine lipsticks from their original 1996 lineup, and they’re releasing them in their new Vice formula.

They have a totally legit mid-’90s metallic feel to ’em.

Some of them are more wearable than others… Take Bruise, a deep burgundy with a red and green shift that, at least on me, is very subtle, and Oil Slick, a sheer black with silver micro glitter that looks more like a deep plum on the lips (think Clinique Black Honey).

While others, like Frostbite, a deep blue with multicolored micro-glitter, are straight up cray! Wearing Frostbite I feel like I’m channeling Lil’ Kim at the height of her Crush on You fabulousness.

The collection is limited edition, so once these robot lips colors are gone, you won’t find them anymore on shelves. Better grab your favorite one before they peace out.

Take a stroll down memory lane these holidays with the Urban Decay Vice Vintage Capsule Collection ($17 each), coming soon.

Happy #Caturday!

Rise and shine, morning glory. I hope you slept well. I slept…interestingly, LOL! Connor Claire had her 6-month checkup yesterday, so she was a little out of sorts last night from all the attention and woke up early. But we’re chugging along… Tabs is a little fed up with the crying, truth be told, but he’s trying to be patient because she’s still a new hire. 🙂

Are you doing anything fun over there?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

UV-B is my current favorite eyeshadow and as much as these lippies are insanely gorgeous I’ll probably give them a pass. I like them on my eyes better.

I don’t think any of these speak to me. I will stick to my more wearable shades!

    Have a great weekend!

Lovin the artsy-fartsy look of these. And the Mary J reference especially. None of these would do anything for me, sadly. I remember the line your lips but don’t blend phase. I wore a kind of pink/lavender shade in the middle with a brownish/black liner unblended. Couldn’t tell me nothing! Lol. Thank goodness those days are gone. Though my brows were on point because I hadn’t yet tweeted them into oblivion. Currently keeping dry as the rains pound the East coast. The streets in & surrounding my neighborhood usually flood so I’m staying at my bro’s to avoid getting “swept away”. I swear I need a boat. And some cute rain boots. Might as well look the part. Happy Caturday ☺️

Wow, that makeup passed me by. Twenty years ago I was newly engaged and planning my winter wedding (1-4/-17) will be our twentieth. I was also into my love affair with Bobbi Brown and kinda never left. As a matter of fact, I have gone back to the basics i. The last year. Not so much into makeup as I am skin care. But those colors look fun and I would delve if I wa 30 years younger.
We are bracing on the East Coast to see if the storm in the South is heading our way. The winds have picked up. Be well!

It was a Missy Eliott video- I could see it in my mind while I was reading about the unblended lipliner. 🙂

So not the best Saturday ever? Me neither. I slept badly and am busy packing all. the. things. for our upcoming move. Why do 3 people own so many books? And why have I kept 5 sets of china that I never use? Hugs for Connor Claire- I want to cry when I go to the doctor, too.

    I wouldn’t mind wearing Plaque.

Please give my niece CC a hug for me. Doctor checkups can definitely unrattle anyone.

Some of these look interesting. I plan to peep on Smog or Roach since I love the eyeliners. Bruise looks pretty but I have way to many red lipsticks already.Glad the storm has passed us here in Tampa. Lots of flooding in some neighborhoods, but we made out ok thank God.Loss power during Thursday night but was back on in the am. Happy Labor Day!

Sadly, the new Bruise is nothing like the original. The original had more purple green shift and did not look like red lipstick.

    Love these on you!

I went to Ulta and then spent several hours at the vintage store my friends run, which was closed to the public for the day. The other girls had mimosas, tried on clothes, and chatted. Romeo, the handsome kittycat shop owner who I’ve mentioned before, climbed in my lap twice, so a pretty good day!

Hmmm… I might be very unpopular, but I feel like no fashion or beauty trend from the 90’s should ever come back (even though, they all have).
    Bruise looks very pretty, though!

I am sooo excited for this collection! My first-ever trip to Sephora was in 1999 (when I bought my first UD lipstick in the old bullet packaging)- so I remember these shades so well! 🙂

I’m kind of mad at Bruise. Why waste an opportunity for green duochrome goodness?
