Urban Decay Summer 2015 Collection Overview and First Impressions [VIDEO]

April 6th, 2015 by Karen 15 Comments

Well slather me in sunscreen, and fan my face! I think I might overheat from all the blazing hotness that is Urban Decay’s Summer 2015 Collection.

Homegirl, brace yourself for a brand new line of pigmented glosses (Revolution High-Color Lipgloss), new Primer Potion packaging, new eyeshadow shades in holographic-like shifting colors and a DOPE new line of powder blushes that will make you wish it was more socially acceptable to wear blush on your forehead, nose and ears (I WANT TO WEAR ALL THE COLORS).

Here’s a video overview (with some swatches) of the release, which arrives on UD counters April 15. I’ll be posting looks and more detailed reviews over the next few days.

Thank you as always for watching!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

LOVE your videos, Karen! You sound exactly like I thought you would, haha. Thanks for the review – the blushes look so beautiful!

You look so excited! I am too! And I hadn’t heard about the jumbo Ozone pencil, I’m definitely going to need to pick that up because I have the regular skinny one that I use quite a bit. I’m so excited that UD is bringing back all these bold colors, because they got on a really long Naked kick for a while there. This is like the UD I knew back in the early aughts when I was in high school!

My mom has a photo of the first time I applied blush on myself. I was maybe 4. It’s all over the sides of my face and a dot on my nose. And yeah right now I want to wear these like that. So pretty!

But I also still need a new Clinique blush.

I REALLY look forward to this collection! The mattes look beautiful (want), but the shifting colors are really stunning too! I’ve seen swatches from up close and they looked AMAZING! I’m not sure how I feel about the new Primer Potion packaging though. I liked the squeeze tube. I don’t need an applicator. The glosses look lovely too, but most of the colors aren’t rrrreaaaaally my cup of tea, except for that creamy medium pink. The blushes all look lovely. They have some quite unique shades in there, like the purple and the very bold shades, and I like that.

I am so excited about the new goodies. The matte eyeshadows excite me for some reason and I want all the blushes! Maybe not the crazy purple one but everything else.

Your makeup and your pony tail look beautiful in this video!

Your excitement is so contagious! Also, purple blushes: can I pull it off? Answer: nope. I need a blush tutorial, stat. Because I want to SO BADLY.

I want all of this! With spring and summer just around the corner, my craving for bright colours seems to be returning. I especially love the purples – UD do great purples! (And I’ve got them all. I bought the vice 2 palette mostly because of the shade “betrayal”, lol.)
Lovely video, Karen. I liked the original sin joke XD.
    Have a great day!

I really want to try Assassin. Both because I like the shade and the name.

Just realized that UD didn’t have single blushes before. Looking online, they only have the Naked Flush palettes with blush. Now I’m totally intrigued… must find these and play!

Thanks for getting me all caught up on what UD is up to, Karen! Lots of pretties for sure. Not sure if there’s anything I must run out and get, but you never know. Wish I hadn’t stockpiled so much UDPP now that there are the new options, though I prefer the current squeeze tip to the doe-foot applicator, but that’s just me. Btw, I love the top you were wearing – my favorite color and I loved the ruffles and detailing. Beautiful!
