Quick take: This marvelously easy-to-use mascara lengthens, lifts and holds a curl almost all the way up to the stratosphere. It’s also practically waterproof (even though it isn’t alleged to be).
Wander Beauty just gets me, man. It’s like they have a camera into my soul! They know that I usually only have 10 minutes a day to do my makeup, so every nanosecond of that 10 minutes counts, and every moment is so precious and beloved and luxurious to me that I’ve become obnoxiously picky about the products I use. I literally have no more time for nonsense.
The days when I would bust out three different mascaras to do a single look are long gone. Now I’m all about one tube — ONE TUBE TO RULE THEM ALL! — and that’s what I’ve found with Wander Beauty’s New Mile High Club Mascara ($26).
It has since replaced the It Cosmetics Super Hero Mascara I was loving on for a minute, and the reason is because it isn’t finicky at all. Like, I can just pull it out of the tube, plop it on, and I get even better results that I get from Superhero — lighter-than-air lift, longer lashes and darker, richer pigment — all without having to deal with any drama.
My lashes also look fuller, since Mile High combs each hair out so precisely that it looks like I have more lashes than I actually do. Two coats, and they’re full and fanned.
FYI: If you’re in the pursuit of pure volume, then Mile High might not be enough for you. It does thicken lashes reasonably well, but not as dramatically as YSL Faux Cils or MAC In Extra Dimension Waterproof.
I’ve been tooling around town in the rain for the past couple weeks, and even though Mile High isn’t considered “waterproof,” I never see any smudges or smears.
It’s $26, which I know seems a little expensive, but here’s the thing: This mascara does it all for me. I no longer “need” (“airquotes”) a $24 mascara primer for curl hold and length, and then another $30 mascara for volume, and then yet another $16 product for my bottom lashes (yes, I really used to do this).
I get it all from one tube, which is awesome!
Your thoughts on Boden?
I got this catalog in the mail a few days ago from a British brand called Boden. They have a lot of cute clothes, especially dresses, and specialty sizing, too, like petites. They look like LOFT and Ann Taylor, but slightly edgier.
I’m tempted to buy this cute jersey dress with a lipstick print (you know I’m a sucker for a cute lip print), but I have absolutely no idea what the quality is like.
Have you ever ordered from them before? I’m very curious. Let me know if the clothes hold up!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Boden kids clothes are awesome. The best kids style colors cuts and fits. Women clothes fit is for tall and lanky. Not pear shape or any other slightly different female shape. Fit for women is not forgiving. Quality is not much different from h and m. Boden Price is higher.

This product seems awesome, although I usually look for a volume effect in a mascara (I have rather long eyelashes, but they’re really thin). However, I love to try new stuff, and this intrigues me! ? Plus, the packaging is so cute!

My mother wears Boden, the quality is definitely good. I have found a few cute pieces there, but usually go for a different style.

That lip print dress is so cute! I would be very nervous about buying a dress without trying it on first though. I think I’ve gotten one of those Boden catalogs but I’ve never ordered anything.

I have a Wander Beauty mascara for curl from a previous Boxycharm box that I still have to open so this review has me curious as to how that one will perform!

I’m starting to worry about how my poor brain is working (or, more accurately NOT working). I read your headline as Mile High (stop) Club Makeup. And then thought hmmmm club makeup? I wonder if this is a new trend. Like everything is geared toward wearing to go clubbing? Then I scrolled to your picture and had an “OH, Side SHOW Bob” moment. HAHA! It’s awesome that you found a mascara that you love. At least for a minute. 🙂 I could never wear mascara on my bottom lashes or I’d look like a Clockwork Orange. No joke. What did you use?
I’ve never heard of Boden but it made me laugh. When we were in Germany at Lake Constance, my mother said they called it Bodensee. It was the only “German” the Hubs picked up on the trip and he spent the remainder of the time randomly saying Bodensee (to me) whenever someone spoke German. Which was obviously often. I still laugh thinking about it. And, even though it was 20 years ago, if he saw that catalog, I guarantee he’d say it. That’ll be my experiment later today. HAHA!

Review doesn’t do much good without a photo of the wand . .

I love a good mascara recommendation, and I’ll have to add this to my collection!

An almost waterproof mascara that doesn’t smudge? I’ll have to find a tube of this and try it.
I used to order clothes from Boden. I still have a silk knit shirt I wear from them. I think I still have some linen skirts, too. Don’t wear them much because I’ve gotten a bit rounder. Ahem, if you know what I mean.
I liked the quality. Their tees held up pretty well for me. When you order make sure you read the notes about how the item fits and compare your measurements to their measurement chart. Don’t just order the size based on UK to US equivalent. When I measured myself and ordered accordingly I never had to return anything. I’m short and rather hourglass and never had a problem with their fit. But I haven’t ordered anything from them recently.

Ms. Karen is that a plastic wand? I have looked at this mascara before but didn’t give it much credence because I thought the wand was the brush type — my favorite for really grabbing lashed at the root much like the Chanel Le Volume – is a plastic – wand. this now looks like it is too. That makes me much more interested!!
Your lashes are longer than I have ever seen them!!! Beautiful!! I see why you like it now!
Good for you for finding one you love!!

Hi Gina,
It’s a regular brush wand with very short, dense bristles. It almost looks/functions similar to the Chanel one. Good eye. 🙂
