Heya, ladies. 🙂 It’s official: we defeated Wednesday, WOOT! And to celebrate our victory, I plan to enjoy a glass of wine while I watch Burn Notice and paint my shaved toes with one of the colors from Essie’s new Art of Spring collection.
Can you help me decide which color to use ?

Fellow surfer girls and beach bums, put down your board wax and sit your bikini-clad booty down on the sand because the MAC To the Beach collection (available May 27) is going to knock you out of your flip-flops.
This summer release features over 30 (!) pieces for lips, eyes, face, nails and body in beach-inspired colors.
For more on MAC to The Beach…
I haven’t been this stoked about a MAC summer collection since Neo Sci Fi, and I can’t wait to dive into To the Beach’s green, coral and pink color palette. And isn’t the limited-edition packaging cute, too? May can’t get here fast enough…

Is everyone and their mum starring in the new Valentine’s Day movie? It’s got enough Hollywood stars to fill a small galaxy! On Monday night members of the ensemble cast — which includes Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Garner, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba and Queen Latifah, to name a few — hit the red carpet for the premiere.
Didn’t Julia look particularly stylin’ in her black dress and silver heels? 🙂
I’ve been a fan of hers since 1988’s Mystic Pizza, but Notting Hill and My Best Friend’s Wedding are probably my favorites from her list of credits… Those DVDs have come in handy many times over the years, always cheering me up on brutal days.
It’s funny, but I totally remember envying Julia’s hella big red mane circa 1988, ha! It’s tame by comparison now, but I still like the ways she works it.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Couldn’t forget to wish you a happy hump day, so HAPPY HUMP DAY! 🙂

Nothing hits the spot like a drugstore haul, and since I was a little cranky this afternoon, I decided to stop by Target to cheer myself up.
I started with anti-cranky essentials like candy (see above) and magazines (see below).

But I found the REAL hard core healing in the beauty aisle. That’s where it usually happens for me, ha!
Physicians Formula, Sonia Kashuk and Sally Hansen? Check, check and check. 🙂

The plum, black, rose and bronze of Stila’s new Jewel Eye Shadow Palette ($32) and Lip Glaze Trio ($32) gave me a serious talking to this week.
They said, “Karen, please give us a chance. I know our shades seem a little heavy for a spring release, but we sparkle like jewels in the light! I promise we’re more airy and whimsical than we seem.”
